This place is completely trashed by cattle, and is nothing but a cow pasture and a watering hole. A few large carp exist for your fishing excitement, if you can brave the flies. I question the assessment of "local guides," commenting on this thread. Even 25 years ago, this was not a good place to fish for anything but stocked trout (which was cool and quite a social gathering). Absolutely nothing has been done to improve the fishing quality of this very rare public resource in Morgan County, and they no longer stock trout. Sad!

A nicely developed State Wildlife Area, particularly for Birders / Bird Watchers. The 360 street view photo is quite dated; I've added photos of the on-site map and guides. There are three observation points along the river, a short walk from the parking lot. A nice quiet place to visit (when it is not hunting season)... and probably pretty good hunting the rest of the time!

Awesome place to get along the river and hunt. Only reason i wouldnt give it 4 or 5 stars is its extremely shot up close to the parking. Scout and put in some miles to find the birds where people dont go. Best day I ever had there was 4 birds.

Well maintained great section of river for wildlife. Didn't see any wildlife though. A few doves. There was a group of friendly Dove hunters that checked with us to make sure we stayed out of their way and them out of ours.

Pretty nice place just outside of town offers access to the river as well as a pond to fish on, I have seen Vehicles all the way up to the pond but I don't know how they get there.

Couldn't find any turkey tracks or feathers. Couldn't hear them calling, definitely no response to a hen slate call. This is a big area. From the parking on the south, I stayed on the west end and on the south side of the river. Maybe the east end has the turkey roosts... plenty of deer activity though.

Nice, except for all the trash! There are not any trash cans and it shows. There's a sign that says adopted by brush high school and some other organization .well they need to get off there butts and clean!
