If you are looking for a unique and personal experience, I highly recommend this one! You will be supporting a small business, and learning from two people who clearly have so much love for their dogs and this land. The dogs were awesome and loved their treats. We were able to pick lots of blueberries... the dogs liked those, too!

There’s no medicine like dog medicine. When they closed Denali National Park due to the fire, we weren’t sure what we would do. I did a search for activities outside the park. I googled off-the-beaten-path unique adventures in Healy, Alaska, and Moon Dog Kennel popped up.

When Courtney called me back, I knew immediately I had to meet their pack! The stars aligned, and we got to the Tundra when Basil one of the 10 Alaskan huskys gave me the first kiss. I felt her love in my broken soul.

Life is chaos right now with so many changes and challenges going on in my world I needed to be loved on a little. This pack roaming free on the tundra, while the shepherd/custodians Tyler & Courtney pour their hearts out about the land, the flora, the wild kindness with such passion. I knew I was given way more than just a day tour with Alaskan husky dogs. I was being reminded to lay down in the dirt, roll around with the dogs, allow for a deep breath – the teachers are here. Go out and play, take in the land. The fire may be burning around the ridge. We can do our part but, most of all, trust the land, the dogs, the brush, trust yourself. Everything is going to be okay.

Walking on an Alaska tundra sharing wild blueberries with the sweetest sled dogs. Could not have had a better experience; one of the best on our Alaska trip. Courtney and Brian are so friendly, and were eager to share their Alaska experiences and their knowledge of the outdoors and their dogs. Their dogs are the sweetest trail companions and we had such a great time sharing the outdoors with them. We would highly recommend this trip.

Our family (12-70's) had a fantastic visit with Courtney and Brian and their dogs on the summer tundra walk. They don't have a "canned" presentation and are able to tailor the visit to each small group -just our 7 family members for our tour. They clearly love the land, their dogs, and the Alaskan life. They are very knowledgable about the flora and fauna of the tundra, but the highlight was interacting with their dogs and learning about how a freight mush team functions and how they raise/care for/train the team. A small personalized experience that our family loved. thanks for the visit!

Moon Dog Kennel offers a unique experience. You don’t just get to see them from a distance and hear a canned presentation, but actually walk with and pet the very friendly dogs while you hear stories from the people who love them. Courtney and Brian love sharing about their lifestyle and the way they take care of their dogs. They keep all their dogs even after they’ve “retired” so you might even get to meet the oldies!

Definitely recommend a visit for anyone who likes dogs and/or Alaska stories.

And come back in the winter to actually get out mushing on a dogsled and see the dogs at their happiest!

Our Family of four did the summer tour with the mushing dogs, Courtney and Bryan. They were nice enough to stay late and let us play with the doggos. The kids loved it! I would highly recommend doing this to anyone in the area, whether it’s winter or summer. Great people(and dogs!) 10/10!!

Such a fun experience to learn about the dogs and the Alaskan wilderness. The dogs are great to be around and Court and Brian make the experience a blast. It’s definitely a unique experience you will love.
