Our 4some group and 1 ride along had a great time at this beautiful course. It was a little disappointing that there was a group ahead of us that was a little slow, but we had a great time! Staff was friendly and kind. They didn't have to tell us to move faster because we really couldn't. The fairways, tee boxes, and greens were well maintained. We hope someday to come again!

Everything was great. All the employees were friendly and helpful and the course was in great shape.
The pace of play was also very good. Very pretty course and just challenging enough for us. Shot a few strokes over my usual score, but I'll chalk that up to being unfamiliar with the greens.

Great course. It’s beautiful and challenging. You have to plan your shot , and not take out driver on every par 4. We began our tee time at 7:54 and finished at 12:00. This is a normal round of golf , but the ranger on multiple occasions rushed our foursome. In fact we used the bathroom and he pulled up and said if everyone isn’t using the bathroom go tee off. It was crazy. Never been so rushed playing before. The people behind us never waited at a tee box. 2 holes they had to wait because it was a short par 4. Besides the being rushed it’s a great experience, but being rushed to play golf when you pay $172 makes me never want to play there again.

We had a party of 3 and 2 attempt to play a round of 18 holes at Baywood Greens on July 10 at 4:40 and :50. My guests were looking forward to playing this course based on my last round in 2023. Unfortunately, it warranted a formal complaint about our disappointing experience with how we were treated as a group.

Here are the actions we found unacceptable of a golf course of their caliber and expense:

1. We were told by the first Starter that we could play together since there was no one behind us – and “there was no rush.” Then by the second hole another Starter admonished us in a disrespectful manner (essentially chewed us out) that we could not and it was unacceptable to the “owners.” It was conveyed in a very unprofessional manner and tone and treated us like we were some freeloaders on the course who needed to be scolded. (We are seasoned golfers and have played Baywoods before). And, if that was not enough, then another Starter began to stalk us as we played over the next several holes.
2. We were then confronted by the 4th hole or so with a family group (with two very young children – all of whom except the father were beginners) playing in front of us who were delaying our play significantly from there on in. As early beginners we were shocked they were even on the course and should have been the last group to play. We requested to play through but they would not obliged and it should have been the Starter to address matter in a customary manner.
3. Then as were at beginning to tee off at the 16th hole, we were told harshly by the Starter that we needed to end at right that moment. There was still plenty of light and opportunity to finish. We were told in a hostile manner. We paid to finish 18 holes and could have if the Starters were more accommodating, and we didn’t have a foursome in front of us who were not keeping with the pace of play.
4. Lastly, there was NO beverage cart that went by us the ENTIRE time and it was a VERY hot, humid day making us feel to the point of a little dizzy at times. This was inexcusable at a course of this caliber to expose their players to this type of hazard.

Overall, the level of customer service was distasteful and rude. Every member of our party felt the same feeling and perspective about the experience. It was not enjoyable but stressful and unhealthy (no beverages in the intense heat) to play under these conditions not knowing when you would be yelled at again by the Starters and pressured to play faster.

We registered our experience with the course and were told they were sorry and took note to look into it but offered nothing more. It was less about kicking us off at 16 and more about the attitude displayed towards us as customers. They should not invite the public to play if they are going to treat them like we were treated.

If you are playing this as a public course, it will be probably the worse experience you will ever have. If you are going to join as a member with 4 other people, it is probably really nice.

Pros:
-Great course layout
-Good condition

Cons:
-Rude staff, with inconsistent "norms."
-Wildly drunk cart girls
-Slow pace
-Pair you with random people, then blame you for them playing slow.

My experience:
I arrive at 2:15 for a 3pm tee time. I check-in and talk to the staff. They say the range is included and when we are done the starter will help us on the first tee. At 2:45, we go to the first tee and the starter stares us down and whines we should have waited for him to come get us when he is ready, being loud during another group teeing off. I said "I don't know why you are getting pissy with us we are fine waiting and we just did what we are told." He continues to make snide remarks for the remainder of the 15 minutes and we had 0 impact on any part of the process.

We get started and are paired with another group of 2. (4 total, pretty normal) I Started with a birdie and was playing and feeling pretty good. The other duo play slowly, but we are up with the group ahead of us the whole time. We get to hole 4 and tee off, again just behind the group ahead of us, and a drunk cart girl comes up and spends 15 minutes trying to get the other 2 in our group to buy shots, we wave through the group behind us because they were pulling up and she was still talking. We play the hole and are just behind them. Hole 5 is cartpath only par 5 and reachable in 2, then a 200 yard par 3, then another reachable in 2 par 5, so we are teeing off, then another par 3 the group ahead is on the green. The ranger comes in and complains about our pace, literally talking for 5 minutes slowing us down, while we would have been at our balls and hitting our approach shots as the group ahead was leaving their ball. The pace was SLOW, but we literally cannot hit into the group ahead, the next hole is a par 3, we are teeing off as they leave the green and in comes the ranger again.

This time he says "you can skip a hole or just play best ball." We skip the hole and go ahead of the group actually playing slow. it is now 5:30 we skip hole 9, we play 10-18 and leave at 6:35, kinda proving the issue was never us to begin with. Which really comes to these points.
1. If they wanted to fix pace, don't pair 2 beginners with another duo, if you can't manage pace.
2. The group ahead of us were the ones playing slow, and we were basically being forced to just hit the ball the second their feet touched the rough. You can't fix pace by yelling at the people behind the slow group.
3. Clearly the people ahead of us were members and they didn't want to offend them and the people behind us were the ones complaining.
4. The people behind us were never in a position for us to even let them play through, though we would have absolutely let them if they had been.
4. A cart path only Par 5 reachable in 2, 200 yard Par 3 and another par 5 reachable in 2 are the reason for the slow down more than any individual group, it is a course issue. You are waiting for greens to clear, but are unlikely to have everyone hit the green and finish quickly.

It was easily the worse experience I have ever had, I hated the whole round after hole 4 and honestly just finished because we paid. It is miserable to start with a birdie and play great only to have the course staff, pace and pairings ruin it. Heritage Shores, Mulligan's Pointe, Jonathan's Landing, Maple Dale (extra love there) and pretty much every public course around here do a better job actually maintaining pace and keeping the round fun. The rude staff as well just made this an even worse experience. I personally would never play there again, and would not recommend anyone else gamble with such a pricey course to begin with. I have had slightly better but still BAD experiences the other 2 times I played there, and both of those times no starter complained when we pulled up to hole 1 to wait our turn.

Cart path only on a 110 heat index day. Was told the fairways were soaked from rain 2 days before. The only soaked fairways were the several that had THE SPRINKLERS on. Horrible decision by management. I complained and they didn’t care. And of course we couldn’t cancel. Have played there quite a few times but will absolutely NEVER AGAIN.

We arrived on time with hardly anyone on the course on a Tuesday. Paid for our round, hit a few balls and went to the first Tee. The ranger tells us everything about the course and then says..... Oh yeah, by the way... It's cart path only. Why is this a common occurrence with this place? Every review says the same thing. If I would have known this I probably would not have played. Do yourself a favor and ASK BEFORE YOU PAY!! $250 for 2 people and it took us over 5 hours because we had to walk. Why was their no discount or mention of this before we paid? Kinda shady if you ask me. We've been here several times and the staff is always treating people like you are a peasant. Thanks for the memories, but we will not be back to Baywood ever again. ✌️

No we didn’t play with 8! The starter got our full group together and took some great pictures. The round was great fun and the course was challenging but fair. Will go again when in Rehoboth.
