We took Rowan out on a fishing charter boat today. We picked Scallywag Charters, Inc because they had a kid friendly 2 to 3 hour excursion that sounded perfect for our family.

We had SO MUCH FUN!!! Our trip isn't even halfway over and when I tell you this is the highlight of our trip, I'm sure it is! Nick was the best boat captain. He was super kind, patient, amazing with Rowan. He had us pulling fishing out left and right, we literally couldn't keep up with them, and we even caught red drum! Which are WAY harder to pull in than I anticipated. Rowan had so much fun and this is going to be an amazing core memory for us as a family.

Rowan curled up in my lap and passed out on the ride back to the dock. Nick even fileted our mangrove snappers which we will take to Dewey's tonight for dinner at the beach.

I can't recommend taking a fishing charter enough! Scallywag Charter's took care of fishing gear, tackle, life jackets, bait. I was actually able to relax and enjoy myself which was a treat. If anyone knows me, relaxed has never been a good descriptor. ?

It was a great pleasure to go on the kid focused charter offered. Captain Nick is a professional of his craft and worked well with myself and my kids during the excursion. He checked all the boxes: safety, experience, patience and of course lots of fish!

If you are taking kids out for the first time or the 10th time I highly recommend scallywag, Nick is absolutely amazing! So awesome with the kids, not only was he patient but taught them things about the fish when we caught them. My husband and I also had a great time fishing as well!

We had the best time fishing with scallywag charters! We were able to get on the fish immediately catching bait fish then went and started slamming the red fish and speckled trout. The kids loved it! Our boat captain was very knowledgeable and so helpful with the kids!

Captain Nick was the best. We went on a quick 2 hour trip and he packed in plenty of fish. Could not recommend this charter more. We had a great time and my kids won’t stop talking about it. Nick is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people you’ll meet.

Captain Nick is amazing! Myself, my wife and 4 year old son went out this morning and had an absolute blast! Nick explained everything and I'm a manor a 4yr old or a novice like myself could understand. We caught a wide variety of fish and Nick always made sure we had bait in the water and fish on the hook. I highly recommend this charter for a seasoned fisherman or family with children!

Great time out on the water. Nick is very patient and offers helpful training, so the girls learn why they were using different bait and why we changed locations. Caught lots of bait fish that was used to go after larger fish, once the granddaughter's learned the "feel" of a fish on the line. They both learned how to cast, and how to safely release them back into the bay. The 24 in male trout was released back in to the bay to help repopulate the area.

Great experience fishing with Nick. He’s fun, knows all the spots the fish hang out and is a great teacher. The whole experience from booking to cleaning the fish we caught was easy (except for reeling in the reds, that was tough but we did it!) We didn’t go to catch the small ones so be prepared to catch big fish and a lot of them!
