My first time using my AC protection plan and I could not be more impressed. Excellent service from the call to the repair. Highly recommend!

So far so good. Price: Had them and several other companies out to bid on replacing my heat pump. They came in about $2k under the others for a Carrier system. Other quoted Trane $$$$, Goodman $$ and others so I had a variety. Experience: Quick but only gave 3 days to decide due to 'sale' pricing. Seems like a gimmick to push sales. Other quotes were good for a month. Install: The team was on time, covered the floor and wore booties. Installed new drain pan sealed at the seams, the hvac unit AND new kill switches, transparent P trap and a breaker box to make work on it easier in the future. Did so quickly and professionally. They even checked with me about placement of the outside unit a bit farther over from my second unit which made perfect sense. Very professional and positive experience so far.

I have been a loyal customer of Constellation Energy for the past 6 years. When I signed up, they offered a plan that included Air Conditioner Protection Coverage for 2 units at no extra charge. This gave me peace of mind knowing I was covered. The confirmation email stated, "Equipment Covered: $0 Coverage for 2 Air Conditioners, Heaters, and Water Heaters + Electric Line Protection, an Annual A/C Tune-up, and HVAC Monitoring."

I trusted Constellation as a reputable company and didn't search for other warranty options for my A/C units. However, on June 13, 2023, one of my units stopped blowing cold air. I called them and they sent a technician who found a faulty capacitor and replaced it. Unfortunately, the next day, the cold air still wasn't coming out of the vents. I contacted them again, and they informed me that there was a leakage in the system and the coil needed to be replaced. They said I had to pay for it because my system didn't have the manufacturer's warranty, despite the coverage I had with Constellation. They only fix the system if there is a manufacturer warranty on the system that doesn’t make sense to get a warranty while you have the manufacturer warranty.

I argued that I was never notified about this exclusion and asked to see the terms of service. Although I never received the terms directly, they pointed me to a link in the confirmation email. To my surprise, I discovered that the warranty was offered by another company called "Constellation Home." This made me realize that this company was taking advantage of people. Since it was the hottest time of the summer, I reluctantly agreed to pay for the service. They quoted me $3200 to replace the coil, but through my research, I found that a Carrier authorized service team could do the fix for about $2200. I even managed to find a better price at around $1700.

After numerous discussions with Constellation Energy and Constellation Home, they first agreed to do the repair for $3000, and then lowered it to $2000. However, I still felt betrayed and disagreed with their solution. The service should have been free as promised, and their offer wasn't fair. I gave them one last chance to match the lowest quote I had, but they refused. So I decided to go with the other service team.

I'm sharing this note to warn people who may have fallen for their misleading and unfair marketing strategy, where they use warranty offers to retain customers while charging higher electricity prices. I strongly advise staying away from this company and making sure to find proper warranty options for A/C protection.

Avoid this company at all costs. They take advantage of you when you're most vulnerable and overcharge you for repairs. Their intention isn't to enhance your electricity service but rather to cheat and rip you off. I gave them multiple opportunities to make things right before posting this, but they don't seem to care about their loyal customers.

We have been trying to cancel the monthly protection plan for our HVAC since May of this year. Though I have called and confirmed to verify my cancellation various times, I am still receiving a monthly bill for no reason. I recently tried reaching out via email and online chat as nobody ever picks up the phone, especially the billing department. Is this company going bankrupt or scamming people? Constellation used to be called BGE and they were once a great company to work with, but not anymore.

Most useless company I have had any experience working for. They NEVER get anything done right and put blame on any employees they can pin it on. They expect way to much of their employees for little benefit, and the amount of things they actually expect you to remember is ridiculous to say the least. I recommend NEVER working for this company no matter how good it may seem. They will take advantage of you, more than any other company I have experience with. Maybe when the day comes that this company is actually capable of keeping things fixed for more than a day, and not make every step of the job take longer than it should, it will be worth it. But I doubt that will ever happen. Until then, this company blows.

If you have constellation energy, and you're paying for the service contract as part of your utilities you use these people. Our AC went out and we called them.

They came out quickly the next morning, but proceeded to tell us that they could not fix it and we needed a new system. They said the condenser had an oil leak and the coil was leaking too. They removed all the filters to our home and just left them in the living room, didn't replace them. "We don't replace the filters" they say, but they happily remove them and just leave them in your home.

They then told us it would cost us 6K to fix the system or they could call the sales person to quote us for a new system. The sales person came out later and told us that our system used the old refrigerant (it didn't) and that a new system would be 13K dollars but only 10K with discounts since we were constellation customers with the service contract. They made it sound like we were getting a good deal.

We decided to call another company and get a second opinion. The first company we called came out, checked all the same stuff, told us there wasn't a leak in the condenser and the coil is leaking. We were told we didn't have to replace our system at all. Constellation home also stated if they repaired the system they would only warranty the parts for 1 year. The other company stated they warranty it for 5 years. The new company also quoted us for a new system, 6K, nearly half the price, and the system they quoted was a Lennox system which was more efficient. The system Constellation Home quoted us with was not more efficient.

Constellation Home is highway robbery. They are overcharging by thousands of dollars. They try to make it sound like a good deal because they can get you 0 percent financing, but you'd be better off with a loan at 15 or even 20 percent from another company than going with constellation home charging you double for worse systems.

Three months ago we received a bill for $35.18 with no explanation for charge. The document shows Service Protection Plan $0.00, Equipment sales Charges $0.00, Service Charges $0.00. We have called the 844-823-HOME number and explained that we have not used any of their services and asked to speak with someone that could help us and get a please hold and no one answers and the connection drops or the person we're talking to just hangs up. To the best of our knowledge we have no contract with your company but we have to date received three bills.

So far so good. I lumped constellation home with my electric bill and I am happy that I did. I recently purchased a house with an older AC system and I knew I was going to have issues with it.

Over Memorial Day weekend our fan motor died. Sadly no technicians were working over the holiday but early Tuesday morning someone was able to come out and fix the issue. Took about 2 hrs and our AC was on again. The labor and parts were covered under the insurance/electric plan I have.

At the end of July we got an email from the electric company saying that our AC unit was not as efficient as before and they recommend we schedule service. I scheduled service for the following Monday. Luckily I did because two days later our AC died again. A technician was able to diagnose the issue quickly and confirmed we needed a new unit.

We decided to replace the entire system and someone was able to come later that day to provide a quote. As long as the unit we selected was in stock they are able to come install the very next day. So luckily tomorrow I should have a brand new AC unit. Due to the insurance plan that we have we were able to save a good amount of money on the system. So far I have been very happy with constellation home and recommend them if your unit is older like ours is.
