We evacuated from hurricane Milton. We had called several other campgrounds that were full. They were able to get us a spot and offered us dry docking when we wanted to extend our stay stating they wouldn’t kick us out. They offered full use of bath houses and laundry for free. Fortunately a spot became available on the lake and we had an amazing site. The camp hosts were the best we have ever experienced. So friendly. They really went above and beyond!! Lake Blackshear has always been one of my favorite campgrounds in Georgia but they really out did themselves this trip. Best unscheduled visit ever. Hoping not to have to evacuate anytime soon again,but if we do…..

What a beautiful place! The campground was right on the water. The hosts, Michael and Gabby, were amazing. The golf course was in fantastic condition and a lot of fun to play!

The park is beautiful and the lake is great, but the resort has ten cottages and no other accommodation . The lodge and villas have been demolished and the only restaurant is Cypress Grill at the marina, but it is only open on weekends. We rented two cottages, both well located and spacious, however, both kitchens were poorly equipped and the furniture was shabby and dirty. There weren’t |sufficient dishes and silverware for four people in either house and only one had a skillet, and it was filthy. We rented a beautiful pontoon boat at the marina and had a lovely two hour ride on the lake. |For one of Georgia’s most popular state parks, a better lodging management company should be found.

Great park! We stayed one night while traveling through. The campsites are spacious and easy in/out. Lots of wildlife and park is very well kept with nice staff. Highly recommend!

Really great resort. It seems like a state park (which we really prefer) but with some extras, like condos, cottages, a golf course, and some restaurants. This was our go to place for hurricane evacuations, but after this past trip, we'll find another place.

The campsites are just too pricey for what they are. As I mentioned, this area, especially the campground is more like a state park, which are usually affordable. The rest of the resort is a nice bonus, but most people camping won't use them. The resort is updating the area, but why charge campers more than you did just a year ago? You didn't upgrade the campground. Charge the condo rentals, golfers, diners, etc.

Starting at $70 you can stay at a true RV resort with many more amenities for the campground users.

Sad that the price has gotten so high, it's a beautiful place. The park is almost empty every time we've been (maybe due to pricing).

The campground has no sewer hook ups, another reason that the price is just too much for what it offers. The sites do have electric both 30 and 50amp, depending on which site and water hook ups. Some of the sites are next to the water and some are pull thrus.
