Lake Horton is beautiful! Very serene and filled with wildlife. Great facilities, play areas, pavilions and restrooms. But I can't gather there with my family, because the current policy is that out of county tags have to purchase an annual pass for $300. Fail.

Very nice park for varied activities. From walking, kids playground, picnicking, fishing and wide areas for frsibee and other sports, the park is very well maintained and peaceful.

We live in Senoia and had heard about Lake Horton (fishing, etc) but not visited. Took our Boykin spaniel with us as he LOVES retrieving in the water. The trails along the lake make for scenic hiking and access for fishing (or throwing a bumper into the water for your dog!). There are bathroom facilities and covered picnic areas. All perfect for a couple hours of Mother Nature just being herself. Short or longer hikes. Some trails are along edge of lake some trip hazards, so stay alert to where you are stepping. Next time, we'll bring a lunch. Recommend for a nice foray into nature and close by to Coweta, Fayette residents.

We love evenings & Saturday playdates at the park! There are always kind people, dogs to greet you and wildlife to enjoy! I would love to see the wooded walking paths repaired as they are currently a safety hazzard for our elders and children on bikes/scooters!

Parking for out of county is $5. I didn’t explore the whole park but the paved trails take your through some dense wooded and even bamboo wooded areas. Of course their are ducks, we saw a super cool spider, there is an old building foundation we climbed on with the kiddos.

Plenty of fishing spots. Cool trails that rim the lake. Clean and mowed and taken care of. Relaxing place to take family. They have a playground for kids as well. Dog friendly but must be on a leash as expected.

We've lived in Fayette County for a while now, but it wasn't until recently that we visited the park and loved it! We LOVE the wooded areas and how fresh it felt. We LOVED the fresh breeze we had that day. We enjoyed seeing all of the people fishing, exercising and walking their dogs as well. We took our 2 youngest babies in their umbrella strollers, and one stroller had better wheels than the other, so it traveled easier on the trail than the other stroller. So if you want to take your stroller, keep mind that the roots from the trees, and the trail itself (in the wooded areas), may make it tricky to stroll on sometimes. However, a lot of the trail is paved. There are picnic pavilions, benches throughout the park, and playgrounds (we aren't comfortable letting our babies play on it yet though). If I'm not mistaken, there is a total of 10 miles of trail? Don't quote me on that. All in all, we loved it and want to go back.

Such an amazing trail! It was so serene time almost stood still. A family was tuck away on the edge of the lake fishing as we walked by a child reeled in a big fish. We saw deer, squirrels, geese…
