This was our 4th summer with this dog friendly company. I truly appreciate the fact they not only take dogs, but accepted all 3 of ours without a pet deposit! Our pups and son loved playing in the creek while we were there. We like to try a new cabin every year and although this last one was not our favorite it’s not the fault of the company. They are always communicative and even text to make sure all is okay. We will be back next year.

My husband and I have been renting cabins through Sliding Rick Cabins for the last 4 years. We’ve rented at least 4 times and have loved our fall trip every year.

We had a reservation for the second time at A Cottage at Riverside which we were so looking forward to on October 12 to October 19, 2024..

Unfortunately we live on the West Coast of Florida and have recently endured Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton in a matter of 3 weeks. Our house flooded and became uninhabitable. We had to rent other living accommodations We’ve had to be prevsebt meeting with insurance claims adjusters and FEMA inspectors not to mention disposing of everything that was ruined which were most of our belongings.

Sliding Rock Cabins and the owner of a Cottage at Riverside have been absolutely unforgiving and we are out roughly $2k. We tried to cancel in advance but it was not in enough time. They offered to open up our days to see if someone else might rent for the time we had booked. 2 of our 7 days were booked (weekends) and we will receive a credit for those two days. But we are losing the cost of the other 5 days. They would not provide a credit for a future stay at another time nor a refund for the 5 days. This is costing us nearly $2k.

We are incredibly disappointed given tgese circumstances our of our control. I would absolutely stay away from A Cottage at Riverside. We have been told this decision resides with the individual cabin owner. They appear to be completely heartless while we are basically struggling day to day.

Nothing wound have been better than being able to go on our planned vacation. The last 3 weeks have felt like 3 years and there is no end in sight. We’re living in a rental property while we still have to pay our mortgage. 85% to 90% of our personal belongings have been ruined and we are barely getting by.

I highly doubt we will rent from Sliding Rock Cabins again but especially warn to stay away from the unforgiving, money hungry owner(s) of a Cottage at Riverside.

This has been a heartbreaking experience not to mention our lives have been turned completely upside down

Don't book or go if you don't have a truck or vehicle that can handle bad road conditions. The road was partly washed out in some areas and it was steep and we bottomed out in our car just trying to get there. It truly is in the middle of nowhere so don't plan on coming and going much. We even tried to rent a truck to use during our stay but nothing is open on the weekends. This company will not work with you and there are no refunds - Period! The cabins may be great but if you can't get there you are out of luck. The company should give more warnings about the road conditions.

We had a great experience renting from sliding rock cabins! We were so happy to find a dog friendly cabin. The cabin was great and the location was beautiful and convenient.

We couldn't get to the cabin without a 4-wheel drive. We back-slit and crashed causing damage to the bottom of the car. Lucky we weren't killed rolling down the mountain. I was willing to rent a truck but the only 2 places around close early on Friday and are closed on weekends. Sliding Rock could care less. I was still getting text messages 3-4 days later asking how we were enjoying our stay. Ended up in a hotel and cut our vaca short. CROOKS - NO REFUNDS! Absolute scam. Considering small claims court.

We had a very relaxing time this past weekend! We would have stayed another night if we could have. Cabin was very clean and well stocked! Couple of suggestions, since we didn't leave the cabin all weekend. Grilling out was very easy with the rain since it was under the screened porch but we would have liked to have had a bigger, newer refrigerator with an ice maker for the price per night. I personally hate filling ice trays. Also, again for the price....the toilet paper was horrible. I would suggest you bring your own! The directions are complicated and when my husband turned on the phone driving directions it led us right to the cabin. We printed the ones they sent us but we didn't come from Atlanta and missed the turn to get to Legion road where the gate is located. I gave the "gate keeper" the lot number and name on the reservation and still had to show my driver's license. The neighbor was very nice and spoke since it is not private and so we only used the hot tub once. Maybe a wood privacy fence on the railing would be better. Overall good relaxing stay and enjoyable cabin!

The cabin we stayed in was cozy and the management company is good enough. A few small issues. Their cabins are all pet friendly, which is really fun if you wanna bring your pet but certain parts of the cabin have a strong dog pee smell. They also smell of dog, you can take every precaution with a dog you want but you cant stop a place from smelling like dog. The cabin lacked small luxuries like extra blankets which during a cold week would be a nice gesture. The fire pit at ours is sort of lame, they put it in a weird spot on a hill so you have to use their bench seat to sit around it when I brought much better chairs and its sort of just a few pavers in a small circle to form the fire pit. I may use sliding rock again but I am not sure I would stay in the cabin "Rivers Reach".
