This was a very nice spot to fish. Great for the whole family or if you just want to decompress on your own. Everyone is respectful and for the main part keeps to themselves. However, in my experience they are willing to share bait or tricks and tips. Yes, it's true there is a "seasoned" gentlemen at the front who can come across as grumpy. However, that is a minor obstacle to the good time that awaits. My son had no experience at all and caught 2 catfish. They also have portable bathrooms should you feel the need to go. Go make some memories..

Here's some practical info:
Bring your own fishing rod and bait (worms worked well for catfish)
Bring your own cooler and chair.
Be mindful where you enter, look for the signs (they're very old)
Take cash, there's no credit card accepted.
$5.00 per person but I think it's $10 on holidays.
No catch and release.
Whatever you catch you have to pay $3.50 per pound (They weigh it when you leave)
They're closed Sunday-Tuesday
Wednesday & Thursday 4pm-8pm
Friday & Saturday 8am-8pm

Hello, I do not recommend this place, the attention to visitors is bad, and they do not have any announcement or mention that payment is only in cash, when you want to pay they retain your belongings until you return with cash.

The man that owns this place is beyond rude. I had a family member from out of town call and say they were fishing here and since it was close to my house, they wanted me to drive by and say hi. When I got there, the gate was opened so, I pulled in. As I was getting out of my car, this man storms over to me and starts SCREAMING at me telling me that I'm on private property and I have to park on the other side of the gate... Cool. So, I move my vehicle and as I'm coming in the gate I explain to him that my family is fishing but I just wanted to say hi and leave. He told me that I still had to pay. I had no poles, coolers, anything. He was just outright rude and spoke down to me the entire time that I was forced to interact with him. Eventually, he told me that I had to pay or leave. When I called my family, they offered to pay for me to get in. (I refused to give this horrible man a cent of my money) once I got in, I realized that he had charged them the full rate as if I were fishing as well. So, I called my husband and had him bring me some fishing poles so it wouldn't be a huge waste of their money. We did catch a lot of nice fish (and paid handsomely for them) but overall it was not worth it to have to deal with the man behind the counter. My family and I will not be returning and will no longer recommend this place to others looking for somewhere to fish.
