Hampton Inn Madison entire staff was very nice and accommodating for me on crutches with a recent busted knee injury. When we arrived late, I appreciated the kindness of lady at the front desk with pretty purple streaks in her hair. She offered bottled water and gave us a convenient room on the ground floor. The hotel was pet friendly, and bed and pillows were fresh and comfortable, and a free breakfast was available. The bathroom was very clean. Would stay here again when traveling in this area.

Because I almost didn’t stay here after reading reviews, I wanted to share my terrific experience - very clean room and common area, awesome well lit truck/trailer parking area (which I could see from my room, I’ll try to attach a picture). Courteous and helpful staff. Hallway walls show some wallpaper damage but hey that’s not a big deal.

Great location. Wonderful people at the desk, but absolutely a gem in the kitchen, Eric is awesome. Everything was clean, fresh, and tasted great! He made our jump start of the day great! Thank you Eric for the good food and attention to detail!

I don’t want to make this sound too bad, it’s an okay hotel. But man check out is at 11am but be prepared to wake up at around 8 if you’re a light sleeper because 1. The walls are incredibly thin and u can hear the chatter of everyone around you and 2. The cleaning crew starts moving all of their equipment at like 9am. Beds were also pretty uncomfortable. Front office staff was friendly though.

The man working the front desk, Michael, was extremely friendly and pleasant. Otherwise, our stay was pitiful to say the least. Upon arriving to our room, the smell of old stale cigarette smoke would make you sick, there was a half drank water bottle sitting beside the TV, there was a clipped fingernail and facial hair remnants in the sink, and a giant hairball in the bottom of the shower. We were part of a big group staying at the hotel for a wedding, and others complained of mold in their rooms. My toddler son ( 3yrs old) has a pet dander and mold allergy, and by the time he woke up in the morning, he was miserable dripping snot and could barely open his swollen eyes… never have had that issue at any other hotels. The complimentary breakfast was minimal, by 8:30am there was no food or refills offered. For $165 a night at a group rate, this was disgusting to say the least.

Love Hampton Inn! They (Michael Jordan) accommodated me when the app and call center said they were sold out! Nice clean hotel and rooms! Very close to the interstate with a truck parking lot that are both very convenient…

So many problems with this stay. We were part of a large group in town for a family wedding. Upon arrival the front desk clerk (Dee)was loud and rude. Because she didn't want to repeat herself to multiple customers, she yelled for us all to listen because she wasn't saying it again. She didn't check the list to see that we were part of a wedding and we had to tell her to receive the gift bags that were left. That night while some of us were hanging out in the lobby, she came in and instructed us to not use the trash can and if we had trash to get a bag from her. She also told us to put the chairs and tables back where they were because they didn't want to set up again for breakfast. It wasn't so much that we needed to do that but it was that we were spoken to like a group of children.
My personal room had only partly been cleaned. The trash was still in the bins. Another room arrived to an open door and another had a door that wouldn't lock.
When we arrived the elevators were out so we left and came back later. The next day they were out again. At check-in we weren't offered any assistance to get our luggage to the room but told to either haul it up the stairs or come back later. This was by the same woman that repeatedly was rude.
Our beds were incredibly uncomfortable. If you like a mattress that feels like boards then you'll love it.
Also at arrival we were told (not asked) to not take our room towels down to the pool and if we did good luck getting more because they didn't have enough so we would have to do without. We didn't use the pool because others in our group said there was way too much chlorine.
I can live with a little discomfort but the customer service was severely lacking with this one employee. For the price we were paying we expected a bit more.
