This whole place is run by volunteers; to make it even etter it sounds like most worked in the field before they retired they just really love trains! Our favorite part was riding in the open box of the train and letting the wind run through our hair. The train ride and museum are definitely worth your time. We spent around 3 hours there (this includes the train ride).

Monticello Railway Museum is a must for train enthusiasts. Beautifully restored engines, Pullman coaches and business cars, and even the Nautilus II, and aquarium car. Child friendly museum. Conductor Dennis is a wonderful host on the train, taking time to chat with adults and kids alike. Great job folks!

Always enjoy visiting the museum during Christmas. Polaris express and lunch with Santa is always fun. Especially now with grandkids.

Monticello Railway Museum is a great family experience! We took our 2 year old to the Railroad Days and he absolutely loved it. We look forward to the next event.

This is a first time for me. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is cheerful and beautiful. The hot chocolate is so delicious and the cookies so delicious. The performance is beautiful and the songs are too. It was a night like a rosy dream. Thank you.

Fantastic tour, arrangements and nice and kind service. Although it is short, but definitely an enjoyable getaway with kids.
