I can not say enough great things about this hotel. The Hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean, bath rooms are spotless, even has an indoor pool. It even has a sitting area in the lobby with lots of comfortable chairs to sit and visit with family. The staff is friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us unload some heavy items from our vehicle. The breakfast was warm & yummy with lots of choices. We started our day off eating breakfast together on the outside deck over looking the lake. We enjoyed watching the hawks, blue jays and cranes chase around. The owner even checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. She wanted to make sure we had a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable stay. She was wonderful and Chris & Kevin at the front desk were always pleasant and helpful. Big "thank you" to the entire staff, we appreciate you making us feel special and we'll definitely be back to stay with you again in November.

Room was spotless and comfortable. Staff was super friendly. It felt like being at home without cooking and cleaning. The breakfast was spot on. My wife and I were happy to stay here while visiting family in the area. If you are needing a room in the area, stay here. You won't regret it.

This hotel is clean and comfortable for a weekend group of friends getting together to knit socks on machines. The rooms are extremely reasonable and the large meeting room is perfect for groups of crafters. The staff will go out of the way to make sure the guests have what they need.

I love Best Western! A lot of these reviews seem unfair to me. First time at the Monticello location. Clean, accessible, etc, all general criteria met. I go hard on reading reviews before staying at any hotel or motel, the vast majority of the "negatives" seemed to be complaints that can easily be overlooked because the staff is working their butts on and it shows! The woman who manages (owns?) it is incredibly friendly, patient, understanding and hospitable. We arrived a bit earlier than we were supposed to and she dropped everything (no line, or others waiting at the desk of course lol) to finish up the room. This is how I know they change the shower liners between guests 🙂 Pool, perfect. Breakfast, hell yeah. The back deck is awesome, scenic view, some rooms have little patios. Its perfect for walking your dog, or self. I was there in Sept, and sure, the railing of the deck could use some funding and maintenance, but its just an aesthetic thing and only a queen should object. In which case, go to a 4+ star. In spite of it all, I'd go back in a jiffy. Also, a huge nod to the staff! Bonus: its in a quiet nook on the street but has a very convenient 24 hour Circle K some couple hundred feet from the parking lot.

The hotel offers a good solid accommodation. It’s a good alternative to hotels in C-U, particularly on football and basketball weekends when it is substantially less expensive than in town, and country quiet. The hotel has been recently refurbished and updated. ||If this sounds perhaps too enthusiastic, it’s not. We have been regulars at this hotel and have multiple reservations to back it up. The only downside is the 15 minute drive into Champaign but we believe it’s worth it.

We enjoy our stay every year. The rooms are clean, in order, nicely decorated, and the staff our very friendly and accommodating to guest needs. As with every stay the went above and beyond. If you need a place to stay in the Monticello area this is the place.

Outstanding place to stay. I rarely write reviews, but I would be amiss not to write this one. The owner is so kind. She is the owner, manager, and yes, you will also see her cleaning the rooms. The place is immaculate!!! Delicious breakfast, nice pool, and rooms are spotless. Her daughter who attends college checked me in, and was just as pleasant. Please support this hard working family. They deserve it !!!
