I know the owners personally they helped me alot in the past while i was homeless. Everyone that buys stuff from here has to remember this place i like a mix between a music store and a pawn shop. I am not quite sure how they run it now but you have to remember the things you buy from them are from people selling to them for a quick cent. I dont know if they test the items first like they use to or if they have some much coming in now its hard to keep up with testing. Its a family owned business. I was known as their little black ninja because i could climb on their roof fast and they had no idea how to fix issues.

I miss you guys hoping some day i can visit yall again when i get my new truck.

Awesome place for retro games, piled high, lots of boxed stuff, ask for it they prolly got it in store, if not they may have it in storage and call you later, great store, if you're a retro game collector that lives in the chicagoland area this place is a must visit! Ive been to every retro game store within a 30 mile radius of chicago, this is my go to. Bring a pocket full of cash and just dig!

This place sold me 2 fake Mario party games for n64 (MP2 & MP3)and never could get in touch to fix it. Still leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth. It’s a shame cause the people seemed really nice 🙁

Nothing is priced. Everything is looked up and a waste of time with high prices. I would have been better off shopping on eBay. It’s called a price tag, no idea why you don’t use them. Would save us both time to have stuff marked. I asked about a cool item and he decided it was not for sale. That was a waste of my time checking it out (the customer) he could care less about my time. Put stuff away you don’t want to sell. His instruments are damaged, make sure you check it out close because he won’t tell you about it. No discount if you find damage. Dude should close and just sell on eBay or offer up only. Waste of a trip. The lady was nice and the son, they get the star.

I drove an hour out from Chicago to visit this place and was not disappointed!!! The owner is extremely friendly and kind along with his wife. He was willing to come by to sell me video games in the middle of this pandemic which I'm grateful for. The selection of music and games is massive and the prices are generous. Never seen so many rare products in a hidden gem of a buisness. Cannot wait to make another trip to visit again!

I was there just the other day. The store is cramped but organized. I wish stuff was priced but I understand many things they have can and do fluctuate in price enough to make it difficult to keep accurate prices on the stuff. Many things to look at. The owners are nice and I could have stayed longer just looking through the stuff available. They take cash, I would have liked a credit option but it's not a deal breaker. The store could be twice the size to spread out what is available, but once again items are stocked and stacked with similar items. I'll come back. Chris

My husband and I love this store! We are in there all the time! The prices are reasonable, the amount of stuff they have is beyond amazing (we could spend the whole day in there and find gem after gem.) The store is filled with so many cool items, this includes the items that are for sale, and the display items. To the person who was crying about them not wanting to sell display pieces 😂 go back to the cave you crawled out of, stores have display items that are not for sale all the time. Maybe next time instead of being a sad boy you can just appreciate a cool collector's item when you see it.

There is no other place like it in Yorkville, it truly is a gamers paradise!

Do not buy any Guitars from this location, I was talked out of a sale for the guitar I wanted because the lady who worked there wanted me to see a guitar I'd never heard of. Maybe I should've done my research, but I was ripped off nearly 100 bucks. Luckily I was looking for a "cheap" guitar (not that I wanted to grossly overpay for it) and this guitar (Douglas Halo) will still see plenty of use. However, there is no excuse for wildly overpricing your merchandise to take advantage of those of us who aren't complete gear heads. I'm hesitant to even return to get the guitar set up. Also, I would've preferred the guitar I was looking at first. 200$ is more than the price of a NEW Douglas Halo, much less a used one. I may be at fault for being ripped off, but the fact they were trying to rip me off should make others wary enough to avoid this location at all costs, as far as purchasing musical equipment goes. I will likely give them one more chance in the future as they claim to be very good at setting up guitars and whatnot, but at best a good experience in that regard would only earn this establishment back one or two stars. Basically, guitar center is somehow less overpriced.
