This B&B is outstanding! not only is it a beautiful old boarding house that was built and styled in the craftsman era it is also extremely clean and welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and had all the amenities. The innkeeper Chris made us amazing breakfasts and even catered to my gluten allergy making us gluten free banana muffins. After a day out exploring the area we returned and she had made homemade cookies and gluten free brownies. The price is right and for all you get this is a really terrific deal! The village is quaint with eclectic shops and a few restaurants. We ate dinner at the boathouse and it was very good with a view of the lake. I’d recommend a weekend getaway here anytime of year!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Chestnut House Cottage! Machelle was warm, friendly, and inviting. The cottage was impeccably clean and furnished. The overall experience was totally 5 star, with just the right balance of allowing us privacy while being very cordial and friendly at the same time. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quality relaxing experience in a friendly environment. Dinner is available on the lake within walking distance. Bike trails and shops are also very nearby.

What a delightful B&B! Machelle was so friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the whirlpool bath after a long day. Breakfast was delicious and the conversation was pleasant. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

I had such an amazing stay here. I was only in town for one night for a job interview, and I wish I could have stayed an additional night or two. This bed and breakfast is run by the nicest people who offer a hot breakfast in the morning. The décor in the rooms is perfect! I stayed in the third floor suite which had a large bedroom, bathroom with a large tub, sitting area, and a kitchenette. The location is also amazing! It is just up the hill from the lake, and it is very close to some very good restaurants. Overall, I know I will be looking to come back this summer for a weekend of lake time fun! The 5 star rating for this B &B is well-deserved. Machelle is a wonderful host and makes you feel right at home. The decor is meticulous Arts & Crafts style and beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. Our spacious room had a fireplace, very comfortable bed and bedding. The bathroom was well-appointed with a jetted soaking tub/shower and fluffy towels. Machelle checked on our breakfast time and selections when we arrived, took us to our room and made sure we understood the operation of everything in our room, including the wi-fi. She was very accomodating of my dietary needs for breakfast and made our breakfasts to order, which were perfect. We enjoyed lively conversation with another couple over breakfast and were joined by Machelle at the end, who gave us tips on places that interested us. We had time to visit the spice shop a couple blocks away, which was lovely. We will be back in better weather to enjoy Lake Winona. Great place to stay - far better than any hotel!

Wow, how perfect. Chestnut being my first experience with a B&B was relaxing like home. I’m a bit of a clean freak and Chestnut went above and beyond erasing all my trepidation. Machelle was the most gracious host, tending to your every need. The options for breakfast were varied, fresh, and delicious. Machelle was most gracious and immediately put all at ease. Should the need arise I would definitely stay here again. Beds were comfortable, pillows soft, water hot, rooms clean and welcoming. ||Chestnut House is definitely a place I would recommend.

This B&B is an excellent place to stay. Our hostess was very accommodating when we asked if we could check in earlier than the stated time. She met us at our car and helped carry our luggage in. We were a little nervous about eating with people we didn't know, but Michelle made everything go smoothly. She made a delicious breakfast and offered to make us whatever we would like to eat if we wanted something different than she had already prepared. I would definitely stay here again and again! Thank you Michelle for a great B&B experience!

There aren’t enough stars to truly explain how amazing this place is. Chris was incredible and truly the best hospitality of anywhere I’ve ever stayed while traveling in any realm. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you for an incredible and refreshing experience I will never forget.
