For the past four years Heroic Hair has been my only go-to in Ames. I mostly book my appointments with both Abi and Sam, I do eyebrow waxing, haircuts, and lash lifts. And I was never ever disappointed. I’m moving overseas and feel absolutely grateful for the quality of the services in my time in Ames! Always left feeling beautiful. <3 Edit to review: I wear a religious head covering and every time I had a haircut appointment Abi and the team were extremely accommodating and made me feel comfortable and included. I appreciated that so much and never felt out of place!

I was so nervous to try to go somewhere new but the whole staff was so nice! I had appointments with Molly and Tarrah and they were both so great to work with. I was really embarrassed about my hair but they never made me feel bad and i can’t thank them enough. They put so much time into my hair and went above and beyond. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

I’ve had some good experiences at this place but my last haircut was so terrible I’ve been crying all week. I asked for a light trim of what I already had because my wedding is next month. Now most of my hair is chin length or shoulder length and it’s extremely uneven. I can’t even properly braid my hair at all, and I can’t put all over it into a ponytail because so much of my hair is chin length now. I had such pretty long thick hair. Now it looks embarrassingly thin and it’s uneven. My wedding is next month and I feel so ugly with my hair and no longer can even do the style I was planning on. This is just absolutely ridiculous and quite literally the worst haircut of my life.

I love this place! Great environment and super friendly staff 🙂

I specifically go to Lizbeth who is absolutely amazing! She’s done my haircut and has been doing my blond hair for a couple months now. Amazing result every time! I’ve never left unhappy with my hair. She always explains what she’s doing which I really appreciate and is always happy to answer any questions I have! Also just a great person to be around when you’re in there for a couple hours going blonde 😭 I couldn’t recommend this place enough! 🙂 I’ll definitely be making the trip here from Ankeny after I graduate! Love this place, Liz, and everyone else working 🙂

I booked with Trinity for a Double process. She did an AMAZING job! she was able to help me figure out exactly what color and style I wanted. She was super sweet and understanding! I will definitely be coming to her again in the future!
