Great place to visit and check out the wildlife. Very clean plus they serve food. It's free, but they do accept donations.

Lots of different birds at their feeders. Downy woodpeckers, nuthatch and goldfinch. Wading birds including the great blue heron and egrets.

It rocks. I kayak there regularly. Lots of avian life forms; Eagles, white Heron, Blue Heron, Plover, Sanderlings, King Fishers, and more feather delights!

My husband & I attended the Building Better Birders Field Class & Eco Cruise on June 13th, 2018. The boat was about 10 minutes late leaving the dock which wasn't a huge deal at all. But as we had started on our way an individual half-running was yelling "to wait" so we turned around to get her. This still wasn't a big deal. The big deal was that she then asked to be brought back at 8:00 AM. Now it's one thing to be late but then on top of that to request to be brought back early... Maybe she could have picked another date when she was available. I'm still pumped for the cruise though and excited to see if I hear or spot anything unusual but things go down hill from here. Kelly Mckay, the bird expert who was leading the class is very knowledgeable. Unfortunately we didn't hear much from him. For about 90% of the time he spoke with the individual who arrived late about how badly he hated his job. She then went on how he should work with her at Niabi Zoo although the pay is not good. He then shared that he got in late last night so he wasn't able to shave. This is all fine & dandy had a boat load of people not been here to listen to a birding expert not his private life. As requested the individual was brought back at 8:00 AM but the funny thing is she didn't get off the boat. She continued to stand there and waste our time talking with Kelly. She decided that 8:15 was appropriate for her to leave. When we departed again Kelly decided he would identify some birds. It was a very disappointing trip as I do believe Kelly has great knowledge. I just didn't get to experience it on this trip.
