My mono-fin free diving buddy found Waterhorse Charters when I told him I wanted to free-dive the Point Loma Kelp Forest. I have since gone several times with this charter and each time I'm so grateful for the level of service and attention to details they provide. I feel safe and taken care of from booking, to check-in, loading, putting on my gear, feeling safe in the water to come back getting my camera soaked in the fresh water bucket, hot shower on board, and hot coffee/cocoa/soup they provide. Truly exceptional. Highly recommend for Scuba and Free-diving.

Zach and the Waterhorse crew are outstanding and safety conscious dive professionals! When I want to go boat diving I go to Waterhorse first. They take us to the best sites and offer in depth dive site briefings and always have the best interest of the divers! If you only have one day to dive go to Waterhorse!

After three days of diving with Waterhorse, I’m confident this is one of the best crews out there. They go above & beyond for your safety & comfort, from putting your fins on for you on the boat, to swapping out malfunctioning personal gear on the fly, to hot shower & soup between dives. Both the captain & DMs were open to answering questions & feeding my curiosity about the critters I saw & the dive industry in general. Coronado Island is a bucket list kind of dive with tons of sea lions & reef fish, but even the more local trips were totally worth it. It was a wonderful few days & I can’t wait to come back!

Waterhorse Charters truly exceeded my expectations and provided the best dive charter experience I’ve ever had. From the owners to the crew, everyone is top-tier. I had the pleasure of meeting Zach, one of the owners, at the Scuba Show, and I corresponded with his wife Karina over email to make changes. The entire booking process was seamless and professional.

My spouse, who often accompanies me on dive trips, mentioned that Captain Charles was the nicest captain she’s ever met. The divemasters I had, Brandon and Jon, are probably the best dive guides I’ve ever had. I can confidently say they gave me my favorite dives of all time so far.

I had heard nothing but good things from multiple people, so my expectations were high—and they met or exceeded every one of them. If you’re looking to dive in the San Diego area, Waterhorse Charters is the way to go.

My first time diving in California, and the crew at Waterhorse made is so great! So much so, that I booked TWO days of diving with them during my trip to San Diego. Zach made sure we had everything we needed before and during the dives. We had hot soup waiting for us during our surface intervals, with a lot of other snacks for the taking. I will absolutely be booking more charters with Waterhorse the next time I get back to San Diego!

I've scuba dived (dove?) with Waterhorse Charters about 5 or 6 times in the last year since getting certified in March 2024. They are a really great diving company. Safety is their number one concern, then right after that, ensuring that we are having a great trip. I guess I was super lucky on all my other dives, as visibility and conditions were great. Yesterday, we had rougher conditions, and they tried so hard to find us a great place to dive. I felt bad that they felt bad, I had also expected diving to be better based on my look at the various websites for conditions. Can't wait to get my kids out on one of their trips, I can trust their safety and hospitality to be top notch.

I love how they offer a free tank fill at the shop after the dives (or on the boat if the trip back is long enough). It is the little things like that that make them 5 Star!
