Great park for get together and camping fun. They’ve added handicap ramp and a landing to allow easier river fishing access. Camping is quiet and the damn is a beautiful site to see.

The bank by most of the campsites have been cleaned to allow access for campsite fishing making it really nice to not have to leave our area.

Camp hosts have had multiple times of doing karaoke and running light music which made it so much fun. Be nice if it was done more often at campgrounds.

I only stopped here by chance for a few minutes, so I'm not qualified to give it any less than a 5 from what I saw. It was a lovely park with lots of trees. The river was very accessible and close to parking, so I didn't have to walk far. Maybe 50Ft. For a limited abilities person, I liked that. There were people picnicking on tables by the river.

Heery Woods it's probably the nicest state park I've been to. It is ran by the Butler county conservation board and they do a great job of maintaining this campground !

There are 27 electric campsites, with 11 of those being directly on the Shell Rock River with great views! There are la ot more areas for primitive camping!

There is a small boat launch, a great little playground, and handicap accessible bathrooms with showers.

There are two shelter house areas, one having a large fireplace.

They are currently in the process of building a handicap accessible fishing area just below the dam. This will be a great and amenity once it is completed!

Heery Woods is on Rolling Prairie trail system, which offers great hiking and bike riding.

All in all Heery Woods is a great small park!

Registration envelope said “No Checks”, so bring $15 cash.

Pros: many campsites with electric 20/30/50 amp service back up to the river.
Quiet area.
The campground has numerous shade trees.

Cons: I didn’t see any water hydrants.
No dump station - Sign said to use the dump station in the adjacent town.
No Campground Host. I was alone the Tuesday night I stayed there. That may be a concern for some people.

Nice camp ground lot of trees a lot of shade cell phones don't work there some campsites are little close some nice walking or biking trails the town is every close so u get a lot of town people driving through a lot of traffic

Gorgeous state park. Hidden gem in Butler County. The trail loop inside the park and connection to the Rolling Prairie Trail makes for a great destination to bike/hike and enjoy the outdoors. The benches along the trail provide for excellent wildlife and bird watching spots. Plus, the park is just down the path from an awesome wooden rail-trail bridge!
