We are truck drivers and like hiking and such. We found this trail and it potentially had bike rentals. I couldn’t figure out why it said closed on Google or whatever but anyway. We rented the bikes and off we went. We rode to Memphis and kind of took our time. I was very impressed with the bikes as the pedal assist worked excellent. 10 MPH seemed to be the sweet spot. Be nice if the bikes had suspension as they were pretty harsh. We rode 5 miles there and 5 miles back. We were kind of unclear of what the cost would be until we finished. It was $30 each! Be great if you really wanted to explore downtown and such but we were just kind of exercising. So $60 for a 2 hour bike ride might be a bit much for some. All in all we had a great time but not something most could afford to do on a regular basis. But walking or bringing your own bike is free so there’s that. A little surprised there wasn’t water or something over by the bridge so make sure you bring plenty of water.

Such a pretty day out. I rented a bike to ride the trail, but there wasn’t really good info on how to get around. I ended up parking the bike after like 20 mins but it was still nice.

The posted trail regulations are confusing. Administration of the trail is in doubt. The Levee Administration claims the trail is CLOSED without explanation. Posted regulations require registration with the Levee office without any contact information. No one answers the phone at the Levee office on the weekends and holidays. There are no published distance markers between access points. Access to the trail at public road crossings is not marked in most cases. You could get your car towed if it is parked in the wrong spot. The website gives no detail or status information. Otherwise it could be a great scenic trail, particularly in flood when lots of critters head for higher ground.

Great trail, starting across the street from Panchos and leading to Big River crossing. To me it feels safe for both biking and running. Be sure to wear reflective gear in the evenings or at night. My only complaint is that the parking lot is tiny and there’s nothing around. So if something goes down you’re on your own.

Excellent trail to get some outdoors time. There's a bit of exposure to the highway but you can see some gorgeous nature and it's pretty cool to bike across the Mississippi.
