Our 7 year old won the surfing lottery getting to do surf camp with Andy and Desi! I felt so comfortable leaving him with them and the ocean even though he’s not a strong deep water swimmer. He had a fun and happy time and caught some amazing waves! He really learned to surf and is now hoping to get a board of his own. The attention, care, kindness and fun at Ventura Surf Camp was really beyond our expectations. Thank you so much!

Incredible experience! I was nervous to take my 9 year old daughter surfing, but we had a great time and turns out they take kids as young as 5. Andrew's approach to surfing is "calm" and "patience." He is highly knowledgeable but can still break things down to a beginner level, while emphasizing safety and good etiquette. With his instruction, we were both up surfing within two waves and to quote my daughter "it was the best thing ever!"

Did a group first time surf lesson with my roommate and we had Andy teach us how to surf! Was a great time; he took extra time and consideration into when we should start so that we could avoid the crowds and also have the best chance at success. Would highly recommend!

My 16yo had a great time with Andy & Desi & Isaiah and definitely has the surfing bug now. Next up we need to get him a board so he can continue practicing what he learned. Thank you Ventura Surf!!!!

I was at a conference in Ventura (March 2022) and organized a group lesson for ten of us. Evan was great with helping to organize and flexible on numbers and timing. For example some of us with experience just wanted to rent the board and wetsuit but no lesson and he gave us a disocunted rate. Eric and the other instructors were great. Most of us had no experience so they gave us a short lesson on the beach then helped us practice in the water. They would stand in the water and position us properly, then tell us which wave is best to try to stand up on. It wasn't easy but most of us got up once or twice. I thought 90 minutes would be too short but surfing is so tiring it is the perfect amount of time. I certainly recommend Ventura Surf School and if I am in the area again will book another lesson.

Erik met us at Makos Beach for a group lesson and balanced refining my surfing skills while bring my coworker into surfing for the first time. It was a pleasure. Both of us were able to see improvements under Erik's instruction. It was a great time!

My son has done Ventura Surf School the last couple of summers. The instructors are great people, real surfers and have had my 9-year-old paddling out to the lineup and catching waves on his own. He learned a ton and had a great time. He's super stoked and will definitely be back next summer.
