Fire and Ice games is probably the most organized and well stocked Retro game store I’ve visited. I’ve many retro stores in the Bay Area, Chicago, Japan, Vegas etc. The owner Ryan and his staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Give them a visit and have fun! What a blast from the past 🙂

I make it a habit to stop into local games stores whenever I’m traveling.

Let me start by saying that beyond the immaculate branding and ease of finding the place based off a quick search the moment you enter the shop you realize that the owner Ryan and his team have made some very deliberate and thoughtful choices.

My head immediately snapped to a gorgeous graded copy of Earthbound and an array of incredible classic gaming history surrounding it.

Dare caught my attention and immediately got to work helping me put together a bundle of n64 multiplayer classics and everything I’d need to share a slice of my childhood with my friends.

Beyond the incredible selection of games their singles collection for Magic had anything you could want to assemble a pretty spooky commander deck.

The team here is super passionate about their craft, each with their own niche of nerddom they represent and share that passion with everyone I watched come in and in the three visits I made over the course of my week in town.

I would and plan to fly back just to stop into the shop and I hear they are opening another location soon.

I waxed poetics. This is a nerd paradise and I will rave about them to anyone who asks and look forward to coming back.

To any of the team who reads this, you guys made my week thanks for being so talented and in touch with so much of gaming culture.

My husband and I are into retro video games and have been to all the local retro gaming stores and Fire and Ice is by far the best one. They have a large selection and nearly everything you can need or want is here! The prices are reasonable and competitive. They even have some rare and hard to find videos games.

Aside from video games, they have a massive selection of Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, other card games. They also have regular events, tournaments, markets and more. This store really has everything you could possibly imagine!

Above all else, the employees there are so unbelievably friendly. Every employee there is great, but Dakota is one of nicest, most helpful people there!

I only leave reviews if a place is really bad or really good. Well let me inform you that fire and ice is really good. Customer service is amazing. We brought several things to trade in. We were the only ones there. Their appraisal software went down about half way through and had to reboot everything. Normally people would get upset but they kept on updating us with timing and at one point offered to provide our family water if needed. Tremendous service, very apologetic. We didn't even realize how much time had lapsed because the store is so amazing. For older parents there is a true nostalgic feeling when going through the doors. If you have younger kids they will be in heaven and want one of everything. As far as the staff is concerned, great, great people. My son who is ten, had interest in a gaming tournament, the owner took his time explain how they work and answered all his questions. It's not often you come across places like this. Far better than any game stop store and it is locally owned, true brick and mortar. Also very family appropriate. Skip all the lame big box stores and buy local!

This place is a gem! If you’re a nerd you owe it to yourself to come out. Retro games galore, nostalgia and just great vibes. Dakota hooked my friends up with great info for a magic booster. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable in our purchase and helped us out. Dope customer service and the owner seems like a chill dude. Just come out here and celebrate people trying to promote the scene. 5/5

You honestly can’t go wrong here. The staff are incredibly passionate about the hobbies the store hosts and the owner clearly engages with the community every chance he gets. There’s events for open play, often a Saturday mini convention, and there is always something to buy at very reasonable prices. On top of the variety of merch, everything is so clean and organized - which is a huge plus over other stores.

I feel so fortunate to have such a high quality store in our area.

Fire and Ice Games in Rocklin, California has become a second home for my 11-year-old son, who eagerly attends their weekly Pokémon card tournaments every Tuesday night. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a spacious, bright, clean, and well-organized space that is brimming with a myriad of gaming treasures.

What truly sets Fire and Ice apart is its warm and welcoming culture that fosters collaboration and support among players. The staff members are the heart of this establishment, consistently exhibiting patience, friendliness, kindness, and helpfulness to ensure that every customer has a positive experience.

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting my son's birthday party at Fire and Ice. We approached the staff with a request to organize our own card tournament, provided that we supported the shop with supply purchases for the tournament. Without hesitation, they granted us permission to set up in the back and run the event independently. The party was a blast, filled with excitement and joy for all the attendees. All the guests purchased gift cards from the shop for my son’s birthday.

I wholeheartedly recommend Fire and Ice Games to anyone seeking a gaming haven where fun and camaraderie abound. It is my hope that more children will discover this gem of a store and immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon card games.
