Overall, amazing vacation in beautiful Alaska. We went for the fishing and it did not disappoint. Our captain Matt took us both salt water and fresh water fishing over three days. We caught every species we wanted, limited out and taking home more fish than we can carry (literally). His knowledge and guidance made the trip. I highly highly recommend working with Matt. The lodge itself was well appointed. They had everything we needed. We were well fed. The gear for fishing was top notch. The reason I only gave four star was because of the management. It is advertised as all inclusive, but it is not. Licenses and permits were not included and there was an expectation to tip every member of the staff (including the chef). This was very different than similar fishing trips we have been on and honestly any all inclusive trip we have been on. Also, we had arranged a private boat and they put us with another couple. We had to complain to get it fixed. Overall I recommend just having those expectations up front

This was a last-minute trip, and wow — what an incredible surprise it turned out to be! The room was cozy and welcoming, the breakfast and dinner far exceeded my expectations, and the chef was not only talented but also genuinely down-to-earth and personable. Service was truly 10 stars — every server made it a point to remember our names and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. The hospitality here is unmatched. The boat captains were equally impressive — friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. They made the experience both fun and memorable. Thank you to everyone at Alaska Boardwalk for making my son’s 15th birthday one we’ll never forget. Huge thanks to Doug, Trent, Jay, Jade, and the entire staff for such an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Recently went on a 5 day fishing trip to Boardwalk Lodge in Alaska. From the time we stepped out of the float plane on to the dock, the staff was so welcoming and helpful. The stay at the lodge was wonderful and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We fly fished in the rivers and also ocean fished for salmon and halibut. Caught some cod also. The guides were great and they provide you with the very best fishing gear available. Food was first rate! I miss the Lodge already. I will return for sure and highly recommend Boardwalk Lodge Ak.

We have made a few father son trips to Boardwalk Lodge and created many great memories. The guides we've had were great and know the area well. (Jordan and Jay) Halibut, Salmon and crab along with Rockfish and other species. Chef Erich fattened us up on a nightly basis with amazing meals. Doug and the staff do a great job of catering to the guests and we would highly recommend Boardwalk Lodge for a great Fishing and outdoor experience.

We traveled to the lodge with extended family as a group of 10. This was the best vacation our family has ever been on! Doug (GM) was great and treated us very well from the moment we stepped off the float plane onto the dock. Our total experience was enhanced by the service of the lodge staff, guides and boat captains. ||We had some mild concern about traveling there with a 9 and 12 year old. However, we quickly relaxed as we watched the entire staff interact with our kids. The Chef became quick friends with our son and daughter. He included them in the preparation and boiling of the crabs that we caught. They absolutely loved that! The Chef also worked to make sure the kids were happy with their picky eating. ||We had so many great adventures from salt to freshwater fishing. The guides and boat captains all worked very hard to ensure that we had a top notch experience. So much so, that our kids commented that they had more fun at the Boardwalk then they did in Kona, Hawaii the year prior.

Amazing trip! My wife and I took our son (12) and daughter (9) for a bucket list trip to Alaska! It was incredible from the moment we stepped off the float plane. The staff could not have been more welcoming. The lodging was comfortable, and the food was delicious. Doug (gm) and staff catered to our every need. They were flexible with our activities and made sure we made the most out of our trip. We fished both fresh and saltwater. The fishing guides and boat captains made us all feel comfortable (as we are not experienced fishermen)! 10/10 trip all the way around. A review can’t do the experience justice! I highly recommend Boardwalk Lodge to any family or group looking for an epic Alaska fishing experience.

From the moment we arrived via float plane we were met by friendly faces, and fed outstanding food and drink. The guides were all fantastic and very knowledgeable. We are mostly salt water fishermen and were looking forward to the halibut fishing, we were shocked by how much fun the freshwater fly fishing trip was. We had an amazing time and all the guides were so helpful and accommodating. If you have mobility issues please do NOT hesitate to do either the freshwater or saltwater, it should not be missed. Just tell them what accommodations you may need, trust me they have it all and are happy to help in any way. Our freshwater guides bought us to a very beautiful very accessible spot on Thorn river and everyone in our group was able to have a great time and catch a lot of fish. Boardwalk made sure the saltwater boat we went out on had a wide entry door in back so no one had to climb over the high gunwale. Another guest we met while there had issues with her hands, she was thrilled that boardwalk had an electric reel on board and that she was able to fish along with everyone else. You really should take the float plane in and out, I thought it would be terrifying but it actually a really smooth, what a beautiful ride. All the staff were amazing the food was both plated sit down and buffet both perfectly cooked and hot . The fresh crab you catch yourself OMG what a fun surprise that was !! I cant say anything negative about this place. They accommodated us at every moment.

We had a great time but I would not use this facility again. We were put in a house that is not pictured, not the lodge. The website states we would have our own bathroom and there were 5 of us using the same bathroom. They put a guest in the same house as us without notifying us. The beds were good and house keeping was great.|The food was great but we heard the chef putting his staff down were we could hear. The wait staff was really great, they were always right there asking if we needed anything, they went above and beyond. We had a great guides whether we were salt water fishing or river fishing, they worked very hard for our party. |One of the vehicles we rode in was questionable, it needed repairs.
