My husband and I came here a few nights ago for the first time to celebrate our anniversary.

The salad bar ingredients were extremely fresh, and there was a satisfying variety of options. The rolls had an amazing, light, flaky quality without being actually flaky (so much easier to eat without making a mess), and the cinnamon butter that came with them was an excellent pairing!

We’re originally from a densely populated city with a huge variety of restaurant options, so I confess that our expectations for a restaurant in a rural area were not very high. We couldn’t have been more wrong!

My husband ordered a steak and baked potato, while I ordered a seafood platter with onion rings. His steak was cooked exactly as he had requested, and the bite I sampled was juicy and full of flavor. Each item on my platter was phenomenal and put other seafood restaurants I’ve visited to shame. The fried items (catfish and onion rings) were crispy without being overcooked and not overly greasy. The grilled shrimp was incredibly tasty and was my favorite item of the night. The platter I received also came with 3 dipping sauces – I had forgotten to ask what sauces they had, so it was nice to automatically be provided with several choices.

Though the food was stellar, the customer service was even better. When we first entered, we were looking at the displayed specials when Amber asked what she could get us. We explained that it was our first time and we were just looking over the items. She let us know that they had even more items on their printed menus, handed them to us, and showed us to a table. Our server, Tammy, was friendly and attentive all night. Shortly after we sat down, I began to peer around in search of the restrooms. A man engaged in conversation with the next table, who I later discovered was the owner (Kenny), saw my inquiring look and asked if I needed something. That immediate awareness of a possible need even while he was actively engaged in a conversation was extremely impressive.

At the end of our meal, my husband got up to pay, I was just looking around at the décor. Kenny was now seated at a nearby table with a few other people, and he asked me if I liked sweet foods. I answered in the affirmative, and he told me to hold on. He came out a few minutes later with fresh, warm dough balls sprinkled with powdered sugar and with a sweet dipping sauce (later found out they're called "possum drops" - the flavor profile reminded me of a funnel cake). We enjoyed the bonus dessert and went over to thank him before leaving. We had a great conversation with him and the others at the table – everyone was very welcoming and kind.

We had a wonderful experience with the food, the service, and the company, and we’ll definitely be back!

We drove WAY too far to find this place, but we weren't disappointed. People were really nice and the food was good. They didn't take debit/credit cards, but had an ATM ID you did t have cash.

Dropped in this afternoon as they opened up. They are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. If you can get there early. Seem to get busy. Well worth the drive and time it takes to get there. The food was excellent. The server was very good and the atmosphere was great. Will certainly be going here again. Also please remember, the DO NOT ACCEPT credit or debit cards. Cash or check only.

Walked in this evening and we were seated immediately. We waited 10-15 minutes while multiple servers walked past our table (8+ times) and never acknowledged us. We never had a chance to even order a drink, so we got up and left.

Super disappointing. Drove 55 min to get there because we were told it was the best steak around and Hubby wanted to do something special for Mother's Day. Upon arriving, we were told there was just a 15-minute wait but it turned into more than 45 minutes. Once inside, we were at a round-table pushed up against the wall so my seat just faced the wood. Even though it was a steakhouse, there were very few choices of steak and no steak on the kids meal. Kids could not have salad and the salad bar literally had six choices (which included an orange tinted potato salad and bland coleslaw). Extremely disappointing. The bread was not cooked all the way and kind of sour tasting. But the most disappointing was the steak itself. It was not cooked right but that didn't matter because it was nothing but fat. Mine and hubby's plates looked the same -- very little meat. We left hungry. Not to mention the bathrooms are like outhouses in the waiting area. In fact, the sink IS in the waiting area. While waiting to use one of the two restrooms, a child in one of them was throwing up repeatedly. His mom came out and told me not to go in and then I watched her walk to the counter and tell management what had happened and that they needed to have someone disinfect the toilet. While I stood there waiting for the other stall, I watched as many people went in and out of that bathroom and management did nothing about it. They didn't even put up a do not use sign until they could disinfect it. There is no telling how many people left that night sick. Needless to say, we felt like we wasted 2 hours driving out. The one thing I will say is that the kid's hamburger was very big. The only problem was that they gave us no choice of sides. They just sent out french fries and my kids don't like those. No healthy options for little ones.

First time eating here since the reopen and it ALL the food was amazing. Hubby and I had the fried catfish filets. They were so tender and fresh with just the right amount of crust. Baked potatoes and rolls were delicious too and the possum drops were heavenly. One word sums it all up….YUMMY!

This place was amazing, best service I've had at a restaurant in years. They know what they're doing here! Food was great, the ride out there is beautiful, the place was clean and the people were very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a romantic evening, loves rural areas etc... You wont find better service, prices or location than this. I will be going back as often as possible.
