Bandy Canyon is a sweet hidden spot, and I can't wait to go back. Went for a girl's getaway and had a great time. 4 moms and 5 (9 year old) girls in the side by side finch and peacock fit great. The whole experience was awesome and will be a life long memory for us moms but also the girls.
From the first turn into the property you feel secure and safe with the gated entrance. Love that you have wagons to haul all of your stuff to the cabins. The office/gift shop is also adorable. Each cabin came with so much food in a cute basket, including eggs for breakfast. The pool was awesome and love all of the things to see and do around the grounds. We took many walks and explored everything. I honestly wish we would have stayed longer. It is definitely a must. It is a great get away!

I feel very conflicted about Bandy Canyon Ranch. It has a lot of potential to become an amazing vacation destination. It situates in an excellent location for visiting the SD Zoo Safari Park. The place is very clean and quiet and has multiple large patches of well kept grass fields.

The room we stayed was definitely due for remodel and many things were in dire need for a repair/replacement. It should be communicated upfront that the property uses well water with high sulfur content. As such, when hot water is running the entire room would smell like rotten eggs. It’s not a deal breaker, but I was not aware of this in advance and thought the sewer pipe was somehow leaking.

All in all, Bandy Canyon Ranch is a nice and quaint little vacation spot for families at a proper price.

Disappointing Stay at Bandy Canyon Ranch - Poor Maintenance and Hostile Manager. Front desk was helpful.

We booked a 3-night stay at Bandy Canyon Ranch at one of the largest cottages. First night there was no hot water, rendering that bathroom unusable. Since there was no mechanic available at night, we had to wait until the next day. Unfortunately, next morning the mechanic called in sick, and the issue wasn't resolved until much later, significantly impacting our first two days of stay.

On the second day, the ranch ran out of mid-sized towels so those weren’t replaced. The third day our infant soiled himself in the car, so we had to return to the cottage to clean him and the car seat. However, the property’s water pipe broke, so there was no running water for several hours. I spoke to the manager, Emma, who was rude and dismissive. She stated that these issues were "out of my control" and suggested using the ranch’s communal restroom to bathe our infant, which I found unacceptable and uncomfortable, I expressed my frustration that there should be other plans to consider, such as having an on call plumber to stand by if the regular plumber can’t come in, or offering us other cottages’ bathroom instead of a communal one, etc. However, she raised her voice and suggested if we’re not happy with the situation, then leave the property. Her hostility made us uncomfortable, and we eventually decided to leave.

For a place charging nearly $600 per night, I expected a much higher standard of maintenance and service. Our stay at Bandy Canyon Ranch was a major letdown, and I would not recommend it to others, especially families with young children.

What a charming retreat hidden in the mountains next to San Diego Safari Park (3 miles away). We spent a night in the Nightingale cottage. Beautiful. Romantic. In the middle of nowhere and still within reach of every amenity (wifi, streaming TV, Uber Eats, lovely kitchenette). We had a small party in back patio. That was sool cool in the middle of the night. Beautiful grounds. We loved exploring. The pool was gorgeous. When they open that restaurant, that place will be even more incredible. Rustic, peaceful. In the middle of nature. The cottage was clean and cool and very cozy during one of hottest days of year. Loved the bed frames. Would like to buy one just like. If you can tell me where you bought them. Just getting there is worth the adventure. A most memorable trip that we will never forget. Thank you Bandy Ranch. Great staff too.

This was a last minute getaway. It's beautiful quiet and pristine. Front desk ladies were very helpful kind and polite. It's really a very great getaway, you forget your still in San Diego. Only thing I would have liked to experience is the restaurant.

Attended a floating Sound Bath , curated by Elizabeth. This was so relaxing and a beautiful space to have this event. Was a bit chilly so dress warm.

We took our two very young kids here and couldn’t have had a better time! The grounds were stunning, staff was attentive and helpful and cabins were clean and well stocked. The kids had lots of fun touring the rescue animal farm, making s’mores for the first time, playing on the playground and playing in the game room. Thank you for all the special memories, we hope to be back soon!
