We love Barrel of Books! Great place for kids and adults. My daughter always asks to go to the bookstore. Mount Dora is such a charming town, and having a bookstore like this is essential to keeping that feeling. The staff is very friendly and if they don’t have what you are looking for, they can get it for yo pretty quick. Large selection or comic books and collectibles. Don’t shop at Barnes and Nobles or Amazon, that’s lame! Shop local and support small business!

This place is really cool for any book lover! Not only does it have any book imaginable it has board games and book lover gifts. The owner was reading while customers looked around and was very willing to help us. I would come here again, the book shop is very cute!!

Great selection of new and used books! I got 3 books myself, an excellent used copy of Reliquary by Preston and Child being one of them. My wife found a really cool General Knowledge games and we got some Mad libs for our daughter. A little bit of everything for everyone!
They had copies of Iron Flame too! So that was cool!
Also, great pricing on used books!

Absolutely love this book store! From new books to old childhood favorites I always walk out with great finds. Love the honey reading nooks up front, Complete with nice plants and a cuddley kitty. ❤️

Easily my top recommendation if you’re visiting Mount Dora, by like 100 miles! The shop itself is great, really chill vibe if you’re hanging out or just perusing. They have an amazing selection of new and used books (especially sci-fi and fantasy) and the pricing is absurdly low. I regularly price check against Amazon and it’s ALWAYS better priced at Barrel of Books. Best of all the owner Crissy will order books for you if they’re not in stock, even the super obscure romantasy you can’t find anywhere else (and she won’t judge you for it either).

Barrel of Books and Games just moved from a smaller building to a much larger one, which really shows off their collections in an elegant and family-friendly atmosphere. There are nooks and crannies with chairs just inviting you to take a seat and check out a book. For the pop culture fans, they do have a small manga section with a good selection and Pop Figures lining the same area. Even cooler, they have a room all the way in the back where they sell different comic books and they’re organized accordingly. The space is well designed and the staff are very accommodating. They will find what you’re looking for! Good place to spend an hour on a browse with a coffee.
