Some friends and I had the pleasure of visiting battleground axes on Friday night! We had a blast!!! The owner gave us a tutorial. And let us warm up for a bit! Then he came back to check up on us, watched our throws, and gave us pointers to better ourselves!

We had so much fun!!! The staff was so accommodating and friendly!!

I loved that I could order a nice tall latte while I threw! It was delicious! We will be back!!!

Some great fun. Nobody got injured as the rules here are strict enough, but they let you do (mostly) what you want. A great place to go for an hour. It is teen friendly (12+) and is overall a very fun place to go. We did have a hard time finding the entrance, but other than that we had a great time.

This. Place. Is AMAZING. So much fun. Super friendly staff. They will help you and coach you and teach you how to throw the axe better. Pool table that can you play pool while you wait if you get there early. Also a full coffee bar so you can caffeinate before or after you play. Also had a chess board and an area for karaoke. Very family friendly. We will go back and take the kids. Lots of fun and something different to do. Easy to find. Just off I65. Go check this place out. You will be glad that you did.

So much fun. Comfortable environment. There was a lounge area and a table to play chess. The instructor was very nice and informative. He wouldn't let us leave without making sure you hit the target.

This place was great. If you love yourself and good caffeinated drinks, order the Iced Mocha. Blended drink amazingness. Moving on to the relaxed and comfortable vibe of the building and people who work here. Patient instructors ensure you are safe and have success in your axe throwing skills. Lots of different ways to do this so having fun, being open to instruction and ready to laugh are your keys to success. Newer business still settling into the building but already taking the time to perfect the little details. Even the bathrooms were super clean and well stocked.

Battle Grounds was awesome! The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly, and the Axeperts were helpful. We had a group of 4 and had our own lane, so we were able to throw the majority of the time. Good price, good staff, fun time.

So much fun! My friend and I have been twice now and always find it to be enjoyable. The owner is friendly and always offers help if you need it. He is expanding and making it a great location to have a good time at. Will be back for more!

Worst axe throwing experience I've had. I was going to rate two stars, but realized that despite the fun we did have, it was attributed simply to our group having fun ourselves, and was not due to the location itself. The employees were generally aloof and had no idea what they were talking about, and couldn't even consistently hit targets when "demonstrating", and also while they were aimlessly walking around and throwing in the background. Everything was built poorly and had no quality control, including the targets, axes, and even the tables to sit at. One of our initial axes was falling apart, and when we asked to switch it for another, the employee seemed to have no clue what I was asking, and ultimately, when he did figure it out, he gave us an axe that was twice as heavy as both the previous one and the other of our two that we were using. While axes shouldn't be dangerously sharp in axe throwing, our axes were incredibly dull and very obviously not maintained well. A nerf axe with a razor blade duct-taped to it would have been a step up. Our "instructor", Alexander, was rude to our group essentially the whole time. Also, they should have proper two-handed axes in stock.

Axe throwing is a very fun sport/activity, but is made far less enjoyable here. Luckily, I already knew what I was doing going into this location, or else I fear I would have been taught improperly.

EDIT: In response to the owner -- there were no demands ever made for anything. I never acted like an expert. I missed plenty of shots. And I was perfectly able to throw the small hatchet after a while. The reason I switched it out was because the blade was coming off the handle. Absolutely not safe. As for the "trick shots", the only reason I was given to not throw underhand was essentially "because we said so", and I did stop after being confronted.

I find it to be an awfully interesting tactic to respond to a negative review with belligerent anger and all-caps text. That exudes great maturity on your part. You won't have to worry about us trying to come back -- we'll be recommending other places to people in the future as well.

I am genuinely surprised at all of the positive reviews. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with this excuse for an establishment.
