Clean updated room. Quiet! Very kind and welcoming staff. One of the nicer BW I’ve stayed at!we were traveling and exhausted. A clean and comfortable place to rest was so welcome!!|Tho we didn’t use the pool per saw it was a pretty and restful oasis, situated by a bird aviary as well as a koi pond with the biggest healthiest fish I’ve seen!

This is a bit older hotel as it still has carpets on the floor. Lately hotels are removing the old carpet as it has trapped who knows what over the years. It was comfortable, the accommodations were appropriate and clean and they allowed me to bring my standard poodle. (She had a bath before we came) .The staff that checked me in was very nice, professional and discreet (there was a gentleman behind me and when I was handed my key she showed me my room number and did not say it out loud). I did not partake of the swimming pool but I did see a bunch of people enjoying the cooling water (it has been over 100 degrees for several weeks and the cool off is appreciated!) The hotel was near to several restaurants so as a one night adventure it was great.

Booked a stay here for a trip I had planned to go to a close friends wedding. I ended up getting sick and had to cancel my trip. I called the hotel a few days before my trip to cancel and they told me to call back in 2 days when the manager was available. I called back 2 days later and was told manager wasn't in that day, and that they can't cancel my reservation. Even if the manager was there, there's nothing they can do.

I tried calling the BW customer support and they told me only the hotel can cancel it. So now I'm out $150 for a hotel room I'm not even using. Will absolutely never stay at this hotel, or any Best Western for that matter again.

Edit: Adding response to owners response.
You can always make exceptions to help out a customer. The other hotel I had booked for my trip had no problem canceling my stay for me. I also called as soon as I got sick, so it would give you time to rebook the room. Your choice was to keep my $142. And it will be the last dollar you ever get from me. There are dozens of other hotels in town that will get my business instead when I'm traveling through the area in the future to visit family.

Note: This was the first time I've ever canceled a hotel stay in 30 years. It's already bad enough that I had to cancel a trip I wanted to go on, but to lose money too, makes it worse. Worst yet, was the feeling that not one person I spoke to, even cared for my business.

The room I was in had a list of things that needed attention and fixed, or the price required a significant adjustment.
Now, after talking to people about the experience I had at this place, everyone's opinion wasn't too different than my own. To have this room priced at $100 after tax is way too much for anyone to pay. Honestly, I wouldn't even want to spend more than $70, which still pushes it. I would have changed places if it were more accessible, but honestly, that can be much more of a Hassel than anything else. Let's talk about the customer service experience from the time I checked in to the time I checked out. Either whoever I had the pleasure of speaking to was having a horrible day, or they didn't care about anything their customers had brought to their attention. I understand this place now has new management and is no longer America's Best-Value Inn. I would assume that whoever bought the hotel would be interested in trying to alter this place for the better and nothing less than just that. One would think they would appreciate hearing what a paid customer had to say when it came down to it; how else is it supposed to be fixed if nobody says anything to someone who works there?
