Beautiful place! I hiked the perimeter of the lake, except for a short jaunt into the woodsy area. A train was passing by during my hike, which I personally loved. I spent some time just watching the train, it was really peaceful. Muddy in places right now. The ice melting and moving makes a noise, which I did not know but learned here, very cool. There were additional trails going into the woodsy areas, so I will have to return. Parts of the lake have more trash than others. It would be cool to do a cleanup day, removing the old tires alone would be so much. Well taken care of place, none of the trash seems very fresh; it's was probably a place people dumped trash back in the day.

I also found a tazer on the ground, looked like the strap broke. If it was yours, I set it on the picnic table!

Based on previous reviews, I thought this park had a trail around the lake. It doesn't. You can try to walk around the lake, but you'd have to do it along the shoreline which is inconsistent from what I saw. Therefore, only about 1/4 of the lake is accessible. My children enjoyed throwing rocks in the lake and it was a nice place for a picnic lunch. Also a good fishing place. The porta potty was in heinous condition. Poop all over the inside (outside of the toilet).

For years since noticing the lake off 52, I always thought it would be cool if they turned it into a park not knowing that’s exactly what they’re were doing! Just happened to turn into it out of curiosity after passing by and seeing the small park entrance sign lol.

Great place for a hike. Fishing is alright. Seems to be a lot of little Bluegill that will be happy to snack on some worms. A bit strange to be between Sagamore, a cemetery, a shooting range, and an old landfill.

Great nature area. Very scenic. Lots of birds to find and wonderful to walk. Hiking around the lake was roughly 1.75 miles, so a great Sunday stroll. Lovely nature area in the city! Can't wait to kayak the lake when it's warmer

Beautiful large pond close to Lafayette and West Lafayette. Easy access for kayaking, fishing, bring your own picnic. Port-a-potty available and trash barrels. Good parking. Nice quiet place to sit and enjoy nature.
