Bread Basket is a great local spot for a meal and dessert! Located just off the square in Danville this Quaint old house turned restaurant serves up some of the best breakfast food in the Indianapolis area. We had a group of 6 and were able to be seated immediately. The browned butter pecan waffle was the star of the show in my opinion. The Waitress recommended not using their fresh maple syrup because “it isn’t needed” and she was right. This waffle left nothing to be desired, except maybe a nice weekend nap. We also had an omelette, cinnamon roll French toast, and quiche amongst our group all of which were delicious. The sides of fruit were as fresh as if we had just picked it ourselves! Finally we got a mini carrot cake that was very fresh and rich!! Everyone left Bread Basket with a full stomach and a smile on their face! If you’re looking for a brunch spot on the West side of Indy give the bread basket a try. You will not be disappointed!

We stopped by based on a recommendation from a friend and decided to buy some cakes and breads to take home. We enjoyed eating the carrot cake and turtle cheesecake but found the pecan cake to be rather dense and dry. The breads were delicious because I love the taste and freshness of home baked breads. We enjoyed eating the Italian Herb, Honey Oat and Wheat Nut breads. Next time we're nearby we have to stop in for a meal.

Great small cafe but always busy. Huge selection of desserts that are top notch. Try the Turkey dill, soup, and salad. The fruit plate for a starter is great too. A little pricey but a fun mother daughter, ladies lunch, experience.

Finally tried this place out after reading reviews and hearing so much about it.
I took my toddler with me. We had lunch. He chose Pb&j and it came with chips. They even let him choose his jelly. When he got his plate to our surprise they had also given him a slice of watermelon and a slice of orange. He loved it.
I had a difficult time deciding between 3 sandwiches so the waitress let me have half of 2 I really wanted. I ended up loving their grilled cheese sandwich. It had a fresh warm tomato and pesto on it. It was the best grilled cheese I had ever had. I highly recommend that sandwich. All their food taste fresh and they use good ingredients. There decaf was also delicious. I could tell it was good quality.
What I appreciated the most was when it came to pay for the food I had realized that I didn't have my card. I frantically dumped my purse out, I checked my pockets and went through my car but to no avail. I was obviously embarrassed and upset. The lady was extremely kind and understanding. She allowed me to call my husband and let him pay for my meal over the phone.
I did end up finding my card at a store I had gone to right before I came to the restaurant.
I just want to say thank you to the Staff. It meant so much to this Mama to have your understanding and flexibility.

Such a cute little restaurant. I wish we would have had more time to try a few other items but we are already planning a trip back.

The curry chicken soup was delicious!

The ham and Swiss with the apricot jam was the perfect combination of salty and sweet.

The Cafe Bar was one of the best things I’ve had in a while, so many flavors and textures coming together perfectly.

I was disappointed in the kids meal half a grilled cheese is not enough for a 6 year old.

I was also disappointed in the service, while there are many people working it seemed like no one knew what they were doing. We were sat by one person, who also brought out our drinks. Then we sat and sat until another server came over and asked us if we were finished, we hadn’t even ordered yet.

Overall an adorable place with delicious food and we will be back!

I drive from Indianapolis frequently to eat here because I love it that much. Love the food and the atmosphere. I've never been disappointed by anything that I have ordered here over the years. Its a 10 out of 10 for me. Go in the summer, sit on the front porch, order some peach oolong tea.

We really enjoyed when we visit here. It's unique and different. If you enjoy a change a pace, this is it.
Souls are great. Biscuits and gravy are great, just need ro give tou more gravy with the biscuits. Very nice atmosphere. You will enjoy it. GOOOOO SEEEEE A+

Food was amazing. We stopped in for breakfast and are both vegetarian. Options were plentiful! We sat on the porch to eat. Neat atmosphere and highly recommend.
