We were on vacation and it was too chilly to spend the day on the beach, so we went exploring. At $5 a person it's worth the experience, even if it's just a few minutes to take a few pictures. Not a bad climb up to the top, but it is very narrow. It was rather windy the day we visited, but the view was spectacular!

Beautiful location in Port St Joe where the lighthouse has been relocated. Unfortunately we made it just as they were closing the light house so we were not able to climb. However we were able to talk to them and get our passport stamped.

Sweet town. Enjoyed the lighthouse, climbing up with a nice view at the top. No museum just a small gift shop.

We arrived at 11:00am and were the first customers of the day. After paying the $5.00 per person and chatting with the friendly woman in the gift shop, she handed me the key and told me I could unlock the padlock myself! I love the small town trust and easy going attitude about it.
We ascended the first set of steps outside and after unlocking the door to the main stairs, began climbing up the interior spiral steps. I’m not a fan of heights or cramped spaces and this was both. Although not bad at all! There were two windows on the way up and numbers on the wall to tell you how many steps you had climbed.
Once at the top the wind was howling. We opened the two doors that led to the cat walk around the top. My kids went first and after some coaxing I stepped out into the wind. Hanging onto the railing, I walked all the way around the top. The views were great and the experience was well worth it. The height wasn’t bad and the staircase was actually really cool. If you’re even considering this, I’d say go for it! A great memory for my family!

Beautiful view from the top! The stairs are narrow, and the climb is kind of tight (you can't pass someone if you wanted to) but it's definitely worth the climb. Very unique 6 to other lighthouses we've climbed. We were the only ones climbing at the time. My 6 year thought it was awesome. It was $5 for an adult and $3 for a kid to climb - kids have to be at least 44 inches tall to climb.. wear closed shoes as flip flop/sandals aren't suitable for the climb.

Great views. It was a steep climb up and they don't make people wait before going up when there are already people up there. It can be a very tight squeeze through the staircase. We enjoyed it.

Vandaag was dit nr 3 op mijn lijst van vuurtorens. Ging mij alleen om foto te maken. Er was ook een heel leuk marktje waar mensen zelf gemaakte spulletjes te koop aan boden. Even overheen gewandeld.
