I booked my outing two days before hand and right away the communication was quick and concise with Avery matching me to the experience I was looking for with an attention for details (my experience, equipment, and lunch preferences). I arrived at Cliffhangers with nerves being a total mess on what would be a first time climbing outdoors. My guide, Jessy, was every bit of a climber you'd expect and as I got to talking to him on the wall, a genuinely awesome human. While the nerves never disappeared entirely, he made sure the experience was safe, offered advice, and made sure the climbing experience would be a memorable one in the best way imaginable. As an indoor climber with a few years on plastic walls, our climb up Lost Horse satisfied my curiosity for what granite felt like, and the rewards of getting up a multi pitch wall were visually and spiritually satisfying. The switch has been irreversibly switched, and I'll be outside again soon, further growing this amazing sport of climbing. Enough waxing nostalgia on the experience, if you've read this novel this far, it's wholly from the heart and I hope you get the same experience. From the perspective of someone who has to keep a fear of heights in check, if you're a first time climber, my review comes from respecting the outdoor climbing experience. If I hadn't gotten a good night's sleep and had to reassure myself a dozen times on the drive in that this was more of an incredible opportunity than a daunting day of white knuckling rock, it might not have been the same kinda day. Jessy and the guides can't make you superhuman, so arrive with a body and mind open to an experience and they'll do everything in their power to create that framework for you.

Our family (2 adults + 12yo boy + 14yo boy) had an incredible climbing experience with Andy, our tour guide. We had never rock-climbed before but Andy helped us overcome our fears and achieve the “impossible” (in our minds). The whole experience exceeded our expectations. A must-try in Joshua Tree! It created lifetime memories for our family and taught us some insightful life lessons!

We had an amazing experience with Cliffhanger Guides. We brought our two boys, ages 14 and 8, climbing for the first time outdoors. Our guide, Daniel, was very informative, encouraging and kind. We booked a half-day, which was perfect for the boys. We climbed several different routes that varied in style and difficulty. The lunch was delicious, and the company was accommodating with our requests - vegetarian options, meat, vegetables and bold flavors. It was an awesome experience.

Amazing company to climb with. Hailey was out guide, and I got to go up my first multipitch. She was full of knowledge, stoke and made sure both me and my climbing had great days. I wanted a full day but my climbing partner only wanted a half day and they were more than accommodating to that. The lunch we got was also amazing and having a break to refuel and figure out the second half of the day was perfect!

Our team went on an offsite and decided to get some guides to take us out climbing, a lot of us for the first time on real rock, and Cliffhanger Guides did not disappoint! Greg, Daniel, and Mike were our guides for our half day at Atlantis Rock, and it was awesome. Everyone topped multiple routes, and we all walked away with huge smiles and only a few well earned scratches from the quartz monzonite granite walls. Greg and crew were very knowledgeable (about everything), helpful, and encouraging.

We will hopefully be back for more!
