The trail is beautiful and interesting.
There are many benches around the place, many beautiful birds in this forest preserve and also i saw many snakes ? different sizes, they were just beside the trail and one of them very small was on the trail.
Just I mentioned this to take care of young children and pets . Free entrance and many parking spots.
There is a bathroom at the entrance

Smooth gravel paths for easy walking or biking! Lots of short loop trail options. Parking lot with public restrooms.
Lots of mature trees to shade the walking path and plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the marsh.
If you park on the opposite side of the marsh at Citizens Park, there is a really great treehouse.

A really amazing preserve. Variety around every turn whether stands of trees, fields of wild flowers or even marsh plants. Well maintained with wide trails and lots of unspoiled land.

The loops in this area don't take long to hike. The hiking trail connects to other areas (if you want a longer hike).

Beautiful place!! Board walk during sunset is my favorite!! Place gets really busy on nice warm days!! This park can definitely use some additional space for parking. Glad to see some deer in one of our morning walks. ?

Hiking trails are wide & well maintained with crushed stone, and also crowned above the general terrain, keeping them as dry as possible. The environment varies from deciduous to pine, to prairie and marsh. The trails are well marked and have a fair amount of shade considering it is a marsh primarily. The trail layout, though primarily straight, does have curvature and variation to provide more interest. There is a modest sized pond, roughly centered, but no maintained trail goes directly to it that I'm aware.
There is only one parking area. It is off of Cuba road and usually ample, but on weekends or nice fall days it can fill. There are other trailheads but no parking other than off of Cuba road, west of Ela.
The only bathroom is at this parking area.
Enjoy your hike / run, or bicycling!

Beautiful place for a walk. Backs up to Citizen Park. The tree house is a very interesting addition and has a handicap ramp. It can be rented out for kids birthdays.
