The most impressive escape room I have ever been to. The storytelling was extremely engaging and interesting, and I was driven to finish just to get to the end of the story. The design and puzzles were extremely well-done, and all of the technology worked very well. The team went above and beyond: they were very accommodating of us, and even gave us extra time when we were close to finishing, and helped us reset a puzzle that one of our team members broke (not the fault of the staff or venue!). If you are in the Bay Area and want to do an escape room, this is the place.

Had a great time at Cubic Escape Room! Booked all 3 rooms for a private work team outing on a week day and they were very courteous and accommodating from first contact through end of event (even providing light snacks and beverages!). The team had fun and the rooms/themes made a lot of memorable moments.
Personally I've tried one room so far, and while I found one of the puzzles in it a bit difficult I still enjoyed my experience. I thought the linear style/narrative story was interesting, and I liked the integration of technology for the puzzles/solutions which is more different than what I've done so far. I'm looking forward to trying out their other rooms!

We're super disappointed with our experience with Room 2217 at Cubic Escape. The best way to describe this room is FRUSTRATING, but not in a fun way. We're regular escape room fans and have gone to a lot of those in the Bay Area. This room was subpar, dark, low quality, and just really frustrating. Here are the biggest things my group disliked:

* The story itself is just odd and poorly written. I won't spoil anything, but it made us laugh at certain parts because it was so absurd.
* You spend most of your time in one dark hotel room where you can't touch almost everything. You really can only touch the phone, and there aren't a lot of "challenges" physically as far as the room itself
* There's so much writing in the booklets you have to go through that aren't necessary, and just a lot of fluff. It got really annoying after a while to sift through 5 pages of nothing helpful, just for a tiny footnote to be the actual clue.
* We had 2-3 technical difficulties during our room visit, and the game master didn't pause the time. So we had to do mental math of how much time he was giving us back while he was repairing the broken keyboard and monitors.
* The room and story are way too long. It took us over 90 minutes to get out over not knowing what type of color blindness a character has, and the room's definition of what color blindness is meaning one thing and our own life experience meaning another.

Overall we left the room really dissatisfied, irritable, and sad. We wanted to like it since we saw it had recent reviews, but we would NOT recommend this room to anyone. It was definitely the worst room we've been to in the Bay Area as far as needless fluff and how annoyed we felt afterwards.

We've been to rooms for $30-$35 with full on screens, sets, lights, props, and it's a fully immerse experience. I recommend visiting PANIQ or The Escape Game over this room series. It was just really bad, and we felt awful we had a first-timer in the group who now thinks escape rooms are frustrating.

As seasoned escape room enthusiasts, my wife and I were excited to take on "Project Delta" at Cubic Escape. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst rooms we have seen, and we have played 122 rooms before.

The puzzles in this room were convoluted and utterly illogical. There was no logic to the game whatsoever, and it was impossible to follow any coherent storyline. We were told that the room needed a minimum of 6 players, but there was nothing for 4 of us to do most of the time.

The set design was poor, and the props were badly constructed. Many of the props were just plain ugly. The tech in the room did not work properly, and it ruined the game flow. We had to constantly watch cringe-worthy terrible actors in numerous "narrative" videos, which were poorly written and made very little sense. Even worse, many parts of the room were nothing but massive time wasters.

The input controls on most of the puzzles were so finicky and unresponsive that those controls were impossible to use, despite our significant experience doing escape rooms. It was so bad that we had to radio the gamemaster multiple times just to ask if we selected the correct number, and they had to tell us something like "keep turning the knob a little more, a little more, oops, too far, turn it back." This ruined the puzzle solving experience.

The gamemaster wanted to blindfold us while leading us into the room, which served no purpose whatsoever and did not figure into the game in any way. There was no payoff to the blindfolds, no logic, no reason. It was just a very disappointing room overall, and we do not recommend it to anyone.

Extremely disappointed today. It was our first time at an escape room and we were quite excited but the tech didn't function as it was supposed to particularly towards the end. We did the room 2217 game which was frankly okay-ish. The quality of the videos and instructions aren't very well organised. Very underwhelmed and frankly wouldn't recommend cubic escape to anyone. Don't spend your money here, you will be disappointed.

Overall a huge bummer!
Took my family of 5 (ages 14-52) to play 2117, the hotel escape room.

You can only work on one ‘puzzle’ at a time, so most of the time people were just waiting around while one or two people worked on something. We had to watch long videos over and over which took up a lot of time. But the tech equipment didn’t work and we had to have the staff come in and fix it (actually two different staff members came in and neither couldn’t fix it, so we just didn’t get to use the computer/camera monitoring equipment, which was a huge part of the room!!)

Also, no AC! It was ridiculously, almost dangerously, hot in that room!

I suppose I should have read more reviews before picking this place…. Would not recommend, nor do we have any intent on trying their other rooms.

Came here to play Room 2117 with some friends for summer break and we had such a great time we came back to play two of their other games too. It was a great challenge and we really enjoyed our experience with 2117 because they incorporated some tech elements as a part of the game which made it really unique compared to some of the other escape room locations around the Bay Area. I was also really impressed by the customer service since our gamemaster was super enthusiastic and welcoming and the place was well sanitized and clean. I strongly recommend Room 2217 and Project Delta for anyone who wants to try escape rooms out.

Overall super satisfied and would love to see if they have any new games coming out so we can come back!

Unfortunately, Project Delta at Cubic Escape was a very disappointing experience. Our Game Master was polite and attentive, but the game itself lacked logic, a lot of the tech did not work, and many puzzles were frustrating due to poor design and input mechanics. I was also upset that I was given false information - I specifically contacted Cubic prior to booking to ask if Project Delta was creepy in any way, as my 9 year old daughter is easily frightened. I was told that the game is not creepy at all, that there is no blood shown anywhere. However, that was not the case. My daughter could not watch any of the videos that were part of the story, and was feeling uncomfortable the entire time. Our family has done over 100 escape rooms by now, and this one was one of the weakest and most frustrating.
