Amazing hike right on my doorstep. Took me an hour to get up and the views are spectacular! About 570m of elevation gain according to my watch and 3.5km (one way). The trail is exceptionally well traveled and maintained

Great hike, no too challenging. Get the trail on your phone on alltrails, it will make it easier to folllow the route. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat. I got the bus at 07:20 from Nerja. Take plenty of water. 2L+

Quite steep, but technically not difficult at all hike. Beginning is quite boring, through the trees, the middle is very beautiful, and the top is ok, but nothing special if you're used to hiking. The descent is very easy, you go back the same route just always downhill.

I was very lucky as weather suddenly turned really dramatic on my way back, which led to gorgeous pre-storm views.

Starting the hike from Frigiliana and finding the way to the path is a little tricky. Well once on the path it’s just focusing on one step at a time uphill. Remember to pause and enjoy the wonderful views! The sea, the mountains, the sky, the panorama.
A bit more tough hike than we expected. Next time we will start earlier to have time for climbing all the way to the top. And bring some trekking poles for the downhill part.

Everyone is right! It’s easy to find and not too difficult if you are used to hiking. We did it today, 1st September 2025. Left Nerja by car and parked at the small car park at the start. 2.20 hr up, 1.30 down.

Great short hike. Took about 4 hours with many stops and relaxing minutes, with kids 9 and 11. It's not hard, maybe a bit just at the beginning. A parking place in photo.

I parked at the small Lizar reservoir (north of village) Steep (in places) but easy and clear trail all the way to the top. I even met a guy who was on his way down in 'flip flops'! You can't really go wrong. Plenty of great view points on the way and the top view was magnificent.

A great hike up to El Fuerte from the village of Frigiliana. Plenty of water and hiking shoes/boots essential! A well laid out track to the top so hard to get lost. Fairly challenging in places but once on top the 360 degree views are just amazing. Will definitely repeat next time we return to Frigiliana.
