I went here for a second time recently. The first visit was great. Power Surge was fun, had good quality puzzles, and we had a great time.

The second visit was honestly disappointing. My family chose to participate in Devil's Den which was supposed to have a higher level of difficulty. The escape room itself was fine, not my favorite, but not terrible. However, the experience as a whole was frustrating. Our game master gave us clues whenever we spent more than five minutes working through a puzzle. After doing this twice, we shared our frustration; she apologized and said she wouldn't share anymore clues unless we asked. Not five minutes later, she gave us another clue. This continued the entire time. She didn't even give us a chance to struggle through tasks, not to mention all of her "clues" would be better described as instructions and answers. I felt like I paid a ton of money to just be told what to do, not actually participate in a game. This visit was not worth what we paid.

Again, the actually escape rooms and puzzles inside are good. However, if you enjoy escape rooms and like a bit of a challenge, I would recommend firmly telling your game master to refrain from giving clues unless asked.

This was great! We did the devils den and it was not scary, just spooky which I was thankful for, I don't like being scared. The game master was very helpful and the rooms were very detailed and super fun! Although we did not get out our game master came in and showed us the last few clues to get out. We had a great time I highly recommend!

We just missed escaping this one, but it was more enjoyable than many we've succeeded at. It was probably the most professional escape room we've been to (of 30 or so?) with a nice variety of puzzles and well timed hints. Highly recommended. We'll definitely go back to do the other rooms.

My wife and I came to Escape Garden State for our date night and we had the Boardwalk Blast room. We had such an amazing time completing the puzzles and clues in the room and the staff was very friendly and informative!

Highly recommend to all for group outings, date nights, team building, etc!

The Boardwalk escape game was perfect with our 10 and 13-year-old sons. it was really interactive involving arcade play and lots of “fun” skills. our game guide John was great! Highly recommend!

We’ve done a couple of escape rooms here and have always had great experiences. We recently did Boardwalk Blast and had so much fun. Our game master was Elliot who was wonderful. He was so friendly and attentive and guided us when we needed help. The staff is always welcoming and professional.

Really great experience! Our game master was Elliot and they were very kind and helpful before and after our game. The rooms here are perfectly themed to NJ, which makes them extra fun and nostalgic. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s up for a fun challenge!

Garden State Escape is a great place to bring a group to enjoy their challenging escape rooms! We’ve done all 4 of them and wish there were more!! The staff is always friendly and their rooms are always clean!!
