Funktion Events - Chester

I pre-booked the Old School Sports Day activity through Funktion Events for my best mates stag weekend and we had a brilliant time. We did all the old classic games and as we were all footy fans the instructor allowed the last 10mins of our session to have a quick game of football. The activity was great fun and a real laugh. The venue of Goals, Sheffield where we did the activity was brilliant too, helpful, friendly and attentive team. Would so recommend.

We had an amazing hen party with the help of Sophie, who we booked through Funktion Events. Sophie came to our glamping site and introduced us to line dancing. She was so patient and fun. At the end we ended up with a full routine. I would highly recommend.

Had a great time celebrating my friend's hen party in Manchester! Everything seemed well organised, and all communication we had was super clear. The payment option to split into chunks was also really helpful. The event itself was AMAZING, with the hotel being really comfortable, and the meal also being a great success. Would definitely recommend, and would look to use them for my own events in future.

We booked a life drawing event in Edinburgh. There were multiple example venues listed, any of which would have been great except for one which was considerably out of town. I requested any other venue aside from that one, only to find out a week later that they'd picked it anyway. I emailed to query it because logistics are real tough with large stag parties and they never responded. Shoddy customer service.

The local guy running the event was decent and is solely responsible for the extra star.

I attended a Hen Party dance class in Chester on Saturday, 29th June, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The dance class involved a lot of standing around as the instructor choreographed on the spot, leaving us waiting for long periods between each move.The situation got so bad that we ended up asking for the class to end early.

To make matters worse, there was broken glass on the floor of the venue, which was both dangerous and unacceptable.

The lack of preparation and unsafe conditions made it a frustrating and unenjoyable experience. To make matters worse is that we haven't received a full refund and customer service is completely lacking. Stay away from this company.

AVOID this company at all costs. We booked a dance class for a hen do, with the understanding that the company would provide both a venue and an instructor. They changed the venue twice, and we arrived on the day to find the room covered in broken glass and with no ventilation (windows painted shut) so it was stifling - completely unsuitable for the purpose. The instructor then arrived and had not prepared whatsoever. She was making up extremely basic dance moves on the spot, then pausing for 10 minutes at a time to make up what the next part of the dance should be. It was very awkward, as well as dull. After just over half an hour we asked her to leave as it just wasn't worth continuing. The company refused to accept that they had not provided the services they promised and offered only a 30% refund - exactly how they thought they'd provided 70% of the value we paid for I do not know.

I am the bride of a hen party, with an activity organised by this absolutely DREADFUL company.

This company organised a 'dance class' for my hen, but instead of an actual studio, they arranged for the class to be held in a pub's function room. The room's floor was covered in shards of broken glass, bits of food and was just all round filthy. We were asked by the 'teacher' to do various moves on the floor - an extremely serious health and safety concern. There was also no ventilation in the room and given there were 20 of us doing exercise on a hot summer's day, the venue was simply unacceptable and totally inappropriate for what took place there.

The 'teacher' also clearly has neither dance nor teaching experience. There was no warm up, she doesn't know how to count, and she was clearly making up the choreography on the spot because she keeps forgetting what she has previously taught. At one point, she just sat on the floor for 5 minutes, looking at ideas on the internet on her phone for what moves she can teach us next. She even asked our group what moves anyone can suggest. I was mortified by how shocking and disgraceful the whole experience was for me and my friends. In the end, we had to ask the teacher to leave because it was just so, so awful. I cannot believe we paid £500 for this utterly horrific experience.

When we complained about the service after the event, the company had the audacity to lie about what we had experienced, despite being provided with video evidence of what had happened, as some of the girls were filming the class. It has completely ruined my hen, which is a huge part of an exciting wedding experience. Please be warned and avoid these absolute scammers at all costs!!

Highly recommend! I went to a hen party which featured a belly dance class run by Funktion Events. It was so much fun and we all picked up the moves. Thanks for a great time!
