This is how local businesses lose to Amazon, "We do not have it in stock. You have to pre-order it. We can't take phone orders today because we are too busy."
I am too busy to take down my Visa number for $$$ order. It would have taken them less than two minutes.
I liked the store when I visited last year. They have a good selection and friendly staff.

I went to Game Kastle recently, and while the staff is friendly enough, the player community is a whole other story. If you're not already part of their little clique, good luck trying to get in on any games. It's like high school all over again – they’ve got their tight-knit groups, and unless you’re in with them, you’re pretty much invisible.

I came here expecting a welcoming community, but what I got was a cold shoulder from the regulars. Doesn’t matter how friendly the staff is if the players make you feel like an outsider the whole time. The place might be great for buying games, but if you’re looking for an open, inclusive place to play, don’t waste your time here unless you like being shut out

Love my local game store!! I just got back into collecting and Janine helped me out with what to look out for in my new collection. Friendliest LGS staff!

Game Kastle is one of the best LGS in the Bay Area, they’ve been running consistent events and plan on planning more and are one of the few to run such high profile ones. Alex has been a great help and seems incredibly interested in supporting the community. I look forward to Game Kastle’s events and plan on driving down here twice a month for the modern and legacy events they have planned!!!

Im a magic player so I can speak mostly on that. It was a great drafting environment, tons of room in a huge building. Rounds started on time and the owners seemed friendly. The magic crowd seemed nicer than in other places I’ve been. Very egalitarian prize support. The store has lots of board games and tables with rpgs set up, so something for everyone.

Great selection across the board for board games and TCGs - I’m by no means a regular here, I was here for the altered tcg roadshow event. I came in early and asked the lady working the register a few questions related to the event and if there was a chance to get more than one promo card in any sense that could be fair(doesn’t hurt to ask right? If not then oh well) - her answer to my question about the potential additional promos landed me in what seemed like hot water because her attitude shifted to a very annoyed/backhanded one. I left it there because no big deal - but she felt the need to actually mention me to the event runner - that I was trying to get more than one promo (I wanted to be fair and only would let it happen after everyone else gets one) - definitely did not make me feel welcomed

Post owners response edit -
I did enjoy the game and fully understand anything related to the event have to go through the event staff. I was hopeful but not expecting for an additional promo because I want to be fair and let everyone else that shows up get one first too. I understand equinox states that the store gets to keep any unclaimed promos(even the event staff said this to me), so I do not know if that may have influenced the employees actions - but one thing the review response did not seem to acknowledge was the employees attitude shift I mentioned. I want to be clear that the game Kastle employee was not asking the event staff member if I could get another promo, it was a very clear “watch out, he wants more than one promo” type warning, that’s why I stated I did not feel welcomed. I took the original answer of no from the game Kastle employee, respected it, and didn’t ask anyone again

Wonderful huge well lit gaming space for community gathering! Bring your own or borrow games. Tons of excellent merchandise for miniature painting and board games. Keep local stores alive, play and buy from where you live! And no I don't work for them 🙂
