We visited this shop during their opening weekend. My boyfriend and I aren’t huge gamers by any means, but we have been wanting to try out some new board/card games that can be played with 2+ players for a little date night or larger gathering. Alex, the owner, is super knowledgeable and gave us some great suggestions. It can be difficult to pick out games from a big box store or somewhere online…this local shop solves that issue with their knowledgeable, friendly staff. They know their inventory well and can provide personalized recommendations…for that reason, we will definitely return. In addition, this place truly has something for everyone…from fun, short card games like “Trash Pandas” to a large display of RPG books to big board games. Also loved that they had a bunch of Squishable plush animals. One of their supply shipments was delayed, so they will have an even larger stock next week…regardless, we found some great items and look forward to visiting again. They even had snacks/beverages for purchase. Sounds like there will be game nights/tournaments and various events in the future too. Check this place out…you won’t regret it!

Great selection and variety of games and hobby supplies! Very polite and kind staff who genuinely love interacting with customers. I recently moved into the area and have fallen in love with the community and environment at goblin games. You gotta love gamers that are LGBTQA friendly!

Table top, yes! Card games, yes! Owners the are into the hobbies, knowledgeable, and looking to be more, yes. What more can you ask for? Nothing. Easily my favorite game store in the greater Chicagoland area.

Great place, great people.

I think my very favorite part about this store is how open it feels. Most board game stores seem extremely crammed. I hate walking in to a store to browse and feeling like I'm intruding on something. My experience here was exactly the opposite. The floor plan is open and inviting. Their table set up allows private browsing without sacrificing game space. Speaking of - they have two huge, handmade game tables that are fit for D&D, war gaming, or just about any type of table top adventure you can think of. They must seriously take up about 1/3rd of the store and they are gorgeous. I've been to multiple game stores in the Chicagoland area and can safely say they are unique. I mainly play DBA, but have played D&D many times and some Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game and can safely say - these tables are amazing and will lead to some seriously awesome gameplay. Can't wait for my first Saxon & Viking bout! They also have a nice Warhammer display and a couple stands for paints.

Board games aren't hugely my thing, though I do like them. Luckily, the owner is extremely knowledgeable about their inventory. They had a good blend of products and I asked multiple questions about multiple items and received responsive answers - and great recommendations!

Side note - I noticed they put bumpers on some of lower shelves. I have young kids, both of whom I brought when I visited, and it was nice to see they were considered.

Plus, I pulled two of my favorite characters from The Lord of the Rings Magic Set - Gandalf & Eomer. "Elen síla lúmenn’ omentielvo - A star shines on the hour of our meeting" - looking forward to many more meetings at Goblin Games & Hobby!

Signed up for a Warhammer tournament. When I arrive I'm told I can't play due to some scheduling issues on their end. I was checked in and on the roster 30 minutes before the tournament start time. When I arrive at the store I'm removed from the tournament on bcp without any notice.

Edit to reply to owner:
I arrive 30 minutes prior to the round one start time you listed. People were already playing.
I signed up a month ago as one of the first people to do. I'm removed with zero notice.
Was everyone in that room who didn't prepay removed from the tournament with zero notice?

Everyone there(employees and customers alike) is friendly and passionate about board games. It's a great place to buy board games and mini-painting supplies. It's also just an all-around good cafe to hang out at and play board games or paint/build miniatures.

This store just opened and I really hope the community embraces what is happening here. A large variety of board games, card games, miniatures, paint, dice, puzzles, and much more. Organized events going on almost every day. Not to mention the selection for kids and families. Having 2 small kids myself, being able to find a game store that offers board games for them outside things like Candyland is surprisingly hard. I am so appreciative of having options for my kids as well as myself.

I look forward to spending nights here playing games with others.
