I took my son there on a weekday afternoon and bought him the T-Rex Package @ $69.99 to dig up and the Megalodon Package @ $69.99 to pan for. It was over pretty quick as he is older and I felt both activities would be better suited for a younger age (4-8 y/o) group who might need more time (and help) to find the treasures. We explored the outside “ghost town and cemetery” afterwards which was cute and entertaining. We spent about an hour in total there.

We went here to buy a few crystal souvenirs, but it turned out to be a wonderful activity & experience spending almost an hour and a half. Thanks to Rudy for her guidance & patience, who is really passionate about crystals & minerals and helped me with my choices, answering all my questions (Also got a great suggestion for a local hiking spot for sunset making it one of the most memorable day.)
Also thanks to Nicky for patiently waiting while I made my selections, eventhough it was past their closing hours.

+Picking up the geode & Cracking it open was another highlight of the visit.

Our visit turned out to be an unexpectedly enjoyable experience, especially for the kids. For approximately $100, we had the chance to discover and collect around 50 dazzling gems, which delighted the young ones. The interactive nature of the activity made it a hit among the kids, making it a worthwhile and entertaining excursion for a family day out in Big Bear. The lady was so very nice, even though she was there by herself. We did have a long wait but the wait was so worth it - as one of my kids said to me! Very fun times!

Quirky little place. I find activities for kids in Big Bear kind of lacking, beings all the outdoor stuff like hiking, etc. First off prices are more than the website, etc, says, but that is the case at almost every place nowadays. Like we saw $10 and up for a geode to crack, but $35 was the lowest. With that said, it was still kind of fun for a kid splitting the geode with the methods they had. The outside area is also kind of surreal. A wooden cowboy hanging from a noose, coffins you can stand in for pictures, a jail with a skeleton, a cemetery with funny headstones, and a huge, really odd pig. If you need something hands-on to do, it is that.

We brought our kids here and they had so much fun. They enjoy hands on activities and this was perfect for them. We had no wait time as we went right after they opened, which I suggest everyone to do. Fun activities for the little ones to enjoy plus they get to keep everything they find!!

You're met with a roped off sign screaming "stop don't enter until allowed" very off putting. If you're business savvy, put some chairs out there and offer some lemonade or something while people wait. The "treasure sifting" is finished in about 3 minutes as the employee kind of hang over your shoulder seemingly wanting you to finish fast so she can tend to other things. She even grabbed the sifter from my daughter at one point and did the job for her. I was left with the feeling she wanted us out of there as fast as possible. The reason i give 2 stars is because she was at least very nice and she's probably just following owner's instructions to take people's money and get rid of them asap. In short this business has a good idea but horrible business practices. And in reading owner's response to others reviews, owner is set in his/her ways and will not change, i think to the detriment of the business.
