Very enjoyable! Free guided tour or tour on your own. Beautiful place and great history. The original home of Herbert Hoover was one of my favorite sites. The observation prairie was absolutely beautiful!

A wonderful experience! I never knew he was such a great and successful man. He cared deeply about the welfare of European people after both world wars. He organized food programs for them that directly saved thousands of lives. I recommend this place highly.

Very nice site, fantastic that Hoover’s birthplace home is still at the same site/foundation, and touching that his gravesite is visible from this home. Certainly an American success story to come from humble beginnings, endure the loss of parents at a young age, and to rise to the Presidency, and more importantly to serve the world in the recovery from wars. Highly recommend the half hour guided tour, our ranger/guide was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful — a great representative of the Park Service. Take the time to see the historic site museum, the buildings, the gravesite, and the separate onsite Presidential Library. An informative and pleasant 3 to 4 hour visit.

Parking is free, and there are lots of parking at the street.

Quiet, peaceful, I really can't find any proper word to describe this historical site. A strong emotional feeling made me want to move to this town.🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭

And one more thing to mention, our dogs even walked with ease and peace for the very first time. Normally they always feel excited when then go to some places new. 😊😊😊😊😊

And, this is definitely a good feng shui place.

Beautiful historic site, with free entry. Blend of well-preserved historical buildings and a modern museum/presidential library. The site also has some well maintained Prairie trails for those looking for a short hike. The staff was also very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable.

What a beautiful place to see! We enjoyed walking the grounds and taking in part of our presidential history. The little house where Herbert Hoover was born, was absolutely darling! Be sure to check out all the buildings and read about them along the way! Also be sure to visit the visitors center and get some nice souvenirs from the gift shop area! I recommend this place for kids and adults both!

A well crafted reconstruction and restoration of West Branch, IA as it was during the childhood of President Herbert Hoover. Just behind his presidential library, the historic site offers visitors a small visitor center with gift shop and a few museum displays, then two gravel streets along which are several historic West Branch homes unrelated to Hoover, the original cottage Hoover spent his early years in, a reconstruction of his father's blacksmith shop, the old Quaker meeting house, and the home of a relative further down the street. It wasn't very busy despite being there on the weekend.
