One the most welcoming places to temporarily call home. This has been my second and longest stay here in the past month, and look forward to doing so again. All of the staff have been pleasant and conversant, but a special shout out to Lashay and Niyohnna who given exceptionally friendly service and made me feel like I was walking in the front of my own home each time! The location is very good with plenty of dining options and the chance to safely stroll around the area. Breakfasts were always hot and fresh, and the area clean. The rooms are well appointed and maintained. If you travel for business and are looking for a place to comfortably roost while in the Carbondale area, look no further than here.

I had a wonderful stay at Home2 Suites By Hilton in Carbondale, IL. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive to every guest. The breakfast team was helpful and always ready to assist anyone who needed it. The receptionists were especially patient and kind, taking the time to explain everything thoroughly. It’s also conveniently located, with the nearest grocery store just a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk away. Overall, a great experience, and I highly recommend staying here!

Our stay was pleasant. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast choices were sufficient that we did not feel then need to go elsewhere. Staff was friendly and check-in/out was quick. The only negative is the lack of parking. The lot seems small for the hotel’s capacity. It includes both regular and parallel parking.

The two people at the front desk left me standing outside the door as they engaged in a conversation. When they did acknowledge me waiting and let me in, I was barely greeted and there was no acknowledgment of the wait time. Additionally, the lady was rude when I asked to check-in. It’s not like there many hotel options and the customer service reflects that they know people are stuck staying with them.

Great hotel, excellent location. I have to defend the hotel based on a few other reviews that are really out of the hotels control. Yes parking is tight, yes there is an active downtown with a nightlife. None of these have affected our stay. We have stayed here several times and will continue to. It's the closest hotel to SIU campus and they allow dogs. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean.

Room was great, hotel was clean and breakfast was good. The BAD: the gross dive bar next door plays really LOUD music all night and is extremely annoying. There's a set of train tracks across the street and it is used alot, trains passed by at least 5 times the night I stayed and they blow their whistles at every crossing, I was woken up each time. Overall the hotel is great but for sleep and rest I give it a 0.

Absolutely the most unpleasant and unprofessional experience. One woman lied to our faces and tried to collect money for a pre-paid reservation, despite a written receipt, and lied about it when confronted.
Also, while not disclosed on the website, there is an Amtrack that passes right next to the hotel hourly—all night long, 7 days a week—sounding it's horn loud enough to vibrate the walls. Pretty much a guarantee you won't get any sleep.
Incidentally, I am responsible for arranging student travel to national competitions for our University, and will be making sure to discourage use of all Hilton properties moving forward.
Whether you are traveling for work or leisure, look elsewhere.

Very poor customer service. Was told we were not allowed to check in with my phone or use my keys. Finally was done being scolded by management, went up to my room and was lied to that I just made my reservation, not asked. I made it the day before and chose my room. Room smelled very musty and not clean. Out side of hotel was very nice.
