We wanted a quick trip for weekend, but got so much more. Katie welcomed us and made us feel very much at home. This boutique stay is so much more personal than the chains. Filled with antiques, the hotel is attached to, Alexander’s, a first class restaurant and bar. Never have we had a stay more convenient, quiet and restful. Downtown is a short walk from the hotel and the river is right alongside the hotel. Can’t recommend the Inn on the Creek too much. We will definitely stay again.

The ambiance was wonderful, and the grounds were lovely - especially the view of the creek. Our room did not have a shower; maybe I missed in the description, but not a good surprise. The food was lack-luster. For the ratings we expected a top notch breakfast but it was on par with a free breakfast at a chain hotel. I had to go out and purchase tea to have hot tea with breakfast (they had herbal decaf teas, but no black, breakfast blends). The service just wasn’t very personal. The adjacent restaurant was fabulous!

I’ve been frequenting this Salado Landmark for years. What has happened? It used to feel quaint with soft bedding, good service, great food and smiling faces. Tony is gone, one of our favorite Inn Keepers and other familiar face that we’re always there to help. Now it feel corporate and stuffy. We goin out that Jason is gone too! I’ll never go back. Even the Shed food has gone bad and prices have gone up! There are still some original good people there, that know how it Gould be done, but they can’t run it on their own! Whom ever thinks they are making good changes need to rewind the tape!

The location was perfect. Quiet and beautiful with all the trees and water. We were greeted by deer, which seem to be everywhere. The accommodations were great; very clean, water was in the fridge. The robes were super soft and a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were very professional and accommodating. All with smiles. Nice place to return to relax. Everyone was very friendly.

The Horton House was never serviced. Repeated requested for water and fridge repair went unanswered . The bed and mattress were so uncomfortable I could not fall asleep for hours. Plus it leaned to one side and caused pains in neck and shoulders. Room Service linens, beds made, etc were never done over a 3 day stay. There were no drawers to put cloths away. Alexander restaurant is no where near what it use to be. The main inn might be fine but the Horton House is a huge disappointment. You lived out of your suitcase.

I’m amending my review. The management finally responded. They made every effort to address each issue beyond my expectations.
I sincerely appreciate everything she did.

Stayed April 4-7 in the Salado Creek Cottage. The entire property is beautiful. There were deer and birds everywhere. The Cottage was perfect for our party of 2 couples. It has a small kitchenette and plenty of room to spread out. There were luxurious robes in the bathroom and a fun porch to sit on. The breakfast each morning in the main Inn was incredible. Katie the Innkeeper is so welcoming and the food is fresh and delicious. Gorgeous dining room with wonderful view. Salado is an awesome town to visit, everything is walk-able and we wished we had more time to stay.

We were there for a girls trip for a few days recently. This was for sure our favorite place. The grounds and buildings were beautiful and so well maintained. The staff was wonderful. Katie especially went out her way at breakfast to see that we had everything we needed. She even gave us togo breakfast items the day we left since we were leaving before breakfast was served. Such a nice surprise! The main restaurant great food and friendly and attentive staff. Wonderful Inn!

I fell in love with the Inn this past weekend. It's a beautiful home in an even prettier place. Katie and her staff made it easy to spend an additional night than what was planned! The fluffy eggs for breakfast made it even better. Thanks all.
