Great place for a day trip to the lake for both paddle boarders and fisherman. Hiking trail goes around the lake and has a small water along the way. Camping is good here year round, although some areas have a tendency to get pretty crowded during late spring and during summer.

Gorgeous lake, caught some fish, packed day use and campsite, but lots of skiing, boating and more

This place has a nice water level that is significantly higher than the year before. We caught several lake trout and rainbow trout. They were all small but very fun for the children to reel in. The bites started to come in as the shadow was casted over the water!

Jenkinson Lake is a recreation area operated by El Dorado Irrigation District. It's multi use, and you can go for the day or camp overnight. Access requires payment. You can access through the main entrance on Sly Park Rd or roadside off Mormon Emigrant Trail where there are self serve pay stations. The lake is open for boating and swimming, and there are also hiking trails. Dogs are allowed everywhere but in the water since the water is a reservoir.

It's beautiful and easy to access and is a great place to visit if you're in Pollock Pines. The Waterfall hike at the back of the recreation area is beautiful! Check at the main entrance to see if the waterfall is running!
