What an amazing place to hold an event! From booking to cleanup after the event the only surprise was how absolutely perfect John’s Place was as well as owners David & Kathy. Questions were answered promptly, booking was easy and the space was welcoming inside and out. If you are looking for a memorable event space this is it! Highly recommend it for group, family, private or any type of event.

Was so honored to be the first Illig to get married at John's Place! I promise you want to book your next event here! The barn is two stories full of antiquities, amenities for your gathering, and huge Jenga and connect four games. They also have a set up for bean bag toss! The new gazebo is beautiful there's also a great sound system set up for music to play. If permissable, there's also a fire pit with a circle of bench swings you have got to check out! Contact David Illig today! They stay busy here, and you're not going to regret getting ahead of the crowd for your booking before the date is taken. Such a wonderful place to make new memories with family and old friends! Beware of the puppy full of love and inflatable riding Illigs! The T-Rex will steal the spotlight being too much fun! 🤣

The setting is beautiful—perfect for a photoshoot as well as playing or relaxing. The barn is charmingly decorated with antiques and curios from days gone by. It speaks for itself! The seating is plentiful both inside and out. The kitchen is well-stocked with serving utensils, towels, and all the little things you need to make a meal come together. David is very helpful answer questions via email before the event and making sure everything goes smoothly. He even took pictures during our event that we were able to download just days (hours!?) after the event. What a treat! I haven’t gotten to talk about all the games available to play, inside and out. Jumbo Connect Four and Jumbo Jenga were a big hit with our guests, as was Corn Hole (Bags) and Croquet. The kids enjoyed the swing set outside and the toy tractors in the rock box, as well as the many blocks and toys inside the barn. Our only regret was that the time went by so quickly. We ended our time sitting in the porch swings encircling the fire while chatting and roasting marshmallows. A perfect day at John’s Place and Farm, Where Country is—most definitely—fun!

John’s Place was perfect for a baby shower for my daughter ! Plenty of space and comfortable seating inside and out , beautifully decorated , all amenities we needed, and over the top friendly customer service. Definitely recommend !

Wow, what can I say but what an amazing place. Not only is it picturesque with a ton of amazing history. But the owners go far above and beyond. I don't think we could have pulled this off with out them. Example. It started to rain right as my wife was walking down the isle. As soon as the rain stopped Dave was the first one out with towels wiping down every chair. That's just one small example of how amazing they were. What else can I say but thank you from the Etten's.

We just visited this place for a birthday party. It is absolutely beautiful inside. The old decorations are set up so tastefully. It is spacious enough for many guests for events, and there are several tables and a few booths for people to sit. Everything looked very clean and well taken care of. I hope to be back again!

This was the perfect place for our team planning retreat. Relaxing, quiet and so much better than a stuffy board room. David did a great job to ensure all our needs were met. We'll go back again!
