When we arrived, we called the caretaker, Olver. He came right over and gave us a 2+ hour tour. He is very passionate about the place, the contents, & the history. It's worth the stop! Free will donation for tour, no charge to enter. They also have a bathroom upstairs if needed.

Well appointed Victorian house restored to 1900 era. Built in 1881 it became a vibrant hub of activity for Lamoni as well as a home for three generations of the Joseph Smith III family. Usually only a few minutes wait to start a tour. On CLOSED days, currently Sunday and Monday, it is possible to schedule an appointment for a tour for a group of one or many. Free, but donations are appreciated and go to the upkeep. All staff are volunteers.

Spurrier a one-room schoolhouse of the late 1800's is down a short path on the west side of Liberty Hall. A short tour might be arranged by appointment.

On the east side of Liberty Hall is the beginning of a scenic, paved, recreational trail for walking, jogging and biking. It winds past ponds, shady tree canopies through Lamoni, around Graceland University and out to The Amish Store by Interstate 35.
