I am incredibly thankful for this ministry and how it has impacted my life. On my La Vida trip, I learned so much about who God is through experiencing the beauty of his creation. I was challenged to push myself to my limits and as a result I was able to do things I never thought possible! I learned to depend on God in a new way when I was struggling on the trail, and how to care for others when they needed it as well. La Vida brings people together in amazing ways; I met some of my best friends here. I would encourage everyone to go on one of these trips. La Vida changed my life!

My La Vida trip in the Adirondacks taught me what it is to have mental and physical grit - something that is unfortunately lacking more and more in the rising generations. The many strategically-placed aspects of the trip teach you practical wilderness survival skills as well as the tremendous value of humility, communication, patience, solitude, and resilience. I learned to live in the present moment and to push my limits to fulfill a previously unknown potential. The expedition, which is free from the many distractions of modern life, including technology, allowed me to reprioritize and refocus on God, His awesome Creation, and building authentic tight-knit relationships with those on my trip. I highly recommend that everyone experience either a La Vida hiking expedition or canoeing expedition at least once in their lives, because it changed my life!

La Vida is one of the most transformative experiences I have ever had. The integration of spiritual learning and disciplines with physical and tangible experiences, as well as the passion for developing leadership in every group member, make learning and leading something accessible and impactful for everyone who has a La Vida experience. And this is not even to mention getting to spend 12 days exploring the jaw-dropping wonders of the Adirondacks or the depth of community and friendship bonds that it creates for lifetimes. La Vida is stellar through and through.

I am beyond appreciative of the La Vida program! After spending two weeks in the Adirondacks experiencing community and partnership with my fellow participants, it was an easy decision to get involved with the program's summer camp. The base camp staff demonstrates their dedication to participants in ways as small as choosing Christ-focused and caring trip leaders and as big as advocating for your needs through prayer and partnership. My time La vida will forever be one of my fondest memories. As a participant I learned that having things come easily to you and being ‘perfect’ aren’t what make you brave or confident. God used the people and the places to teach me resilience, surrender, and joy in hard things, and continues to use La Vida not just in my life, but the lives of students all over.
