I went there over a year ago and back in August 2023 and it was a good place to go and it had some nice hiking trails and a good visitors center and where it was very informative.

So nice! There's something for every nature lover out here. Stop by the HQ for a nice little exhibit on history about the area, gift shop, some hydration, flushing bathrooms, and learn from the excellent staff there. We started hiking from the northern parking lot and we hiked to the HQ where we had lunch. Just note that the parking lots besides the HQ are basically maintained latrine type toilets. There's a great number of bison, but we just happened to be there on a day where they were hanging out just far enough from the trail to not be seen. Just means we'll have to come back, perhaps with some bicycles!

Awesome place to check out if you're in the area. So nice to walk through native restored prairies. Lots of beautiful plants to see. Can also now rent bikes to check out the trails. Also make sure to check out the old ammunition storage bunkers. Most are closed but some are open to explore. If you're lucky you may also get to see some bison! Great place to catch a sunset on a summer evening.

Tbh I haven't seen the bison in a long time but I have already a few years back so it's no big deal. I don't even really want to taste this place because I love that there's very few people that go. Nonetheless, it's so secluded and beautiful. And since I love the great outdoors I must give it a five star as it's in my top hiking locations.

Bison preserve with well executed Prarie grass and wildflowers. Nicely tended trails. Bison weren't seen when we went, but relatives have seen them twice. If you don't see the Bison, the wildflowers and plants are beautiful. If you go to the center there is the most enthusiastic help available if you have questions. There are trail cameras if you get directions wrong so you call them! There are trail brochures at beginning of trail and picnic benchs at entrance .

This park looks wonderful but is not very “handicapped” friendly. With a bad knee, it would be difficult to hike the trails. There are about 100 bison there, but you had to hike to get there. That said, the prairie scenes are still nice.

Spent the afternoon with my boys. Great trails with lots of history. Even though we didn't see any Bison we still enjoyed the time spent outside. Would recommend bringing water as most of the trails are in the open sun. There were quite a few people out on the trails today but everyone kept their social distance.
