I have used MOE (Moenkopi Riverworks) for self-guided rafting trips in the Grand Canyon in 2016, 2019 and 2024 and they have always delivered!

I highly recommend renting the RiverHOUSE before and after the rafting trip as well as getting the door to door package. The logistics, equipment and expertise that MOE provides allows for a high caliber experience that would be extremely challenging to pull off without them.

MOEs staff communicates well, is friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. They have their system dialed in which is crucial for getting 16 people down the river safely and happily for two to three weeks.

I used Moenkopi for an October trip and couldn't be more pleased with the service I received. This was my first time down the Grand and have never planned a trip with as many moving parts before. We did the full door-to-door, boat rentals, shuttles, food and everything they do. Their help took away the stress and made things easy for me. We really just showed up and got on the river. They were very accommodating with special requests and food restrictions. Also, there payment system was easy to use and all of the information they provide on their website is extremely useful.

We have used Moenkopi for a number of rafting trips over the years. We have never had anything except stellar equipment, excellent food, above and beyond service and a great trip in all other ways. We have used them for door-to-door service and for just food and boats. They were helpful and anticipated things we hadn't even thought of.

Their overall drive to provide excellent customer service is extraordinary. Having been an outfitter and knowing all the details that go into this sort of planning makes us even more impressed. Thanks for all your help, going out of your way, working hard so we didn't have too, and helping us have a great trip. We will be back!

Our group had an amazing experience with Moenkopi. The food menu was excellent and we ate like kings. All the rented gear worked great. The shuttle home arrived on time and breaking down the rafts was quick and simple.

Moenkopi is awesome and Andrew is legit, he is super dialed when it comes to preparing you for launch. Overall the experience was great! The boats were good, they destroyed all of the rapids. The boats come organized. My one minor complaint here is that some things are just a little bit old. I ripped a boat handle off while trying to move one for adjusting tides one morning, and some of the newer boats did not have handles at all, which made them hard to move with the fluctuating tides.

The food was amazing! They did a great job! However, they could make some improvements in some areas. Our trip had a lot of condiments that were not used and went to waste. Simpler meals would have been nice, but as I was not on the organizing crew, our trip leader was probably to blame for this.

My biggest complaint comes from the shuttle. Dave was super cool about this, but my vehicle arrived without my key fob. They mailed it to me in a letter envelop, a key fob, through USPS. Of course it showed up missing, just an empty envelop. Dave did mail me a check for it, which was super nice of him and he was great about the whole thing. But this was pretty inconvenient for me.

Overall, I would recommend Moenkopi on your GC river trip. The put in and take out experience was great, and like I said, Andrew is the bees knees.

Just rented gear through moenkopi and they were amazing! All new boats and new boxes. Great stuff. No complaints on gear. The owners Dave and Andrew were so helpful and easy going and just good people. Kaya was amazing to coordinate logistics with and super organized! Young Gregory was a great shuttle drive and very helpful at the put in. Same with our other shuttle drivers! The warehouse crew was hard working and easy going.
Super great experience and plan to use them again in the future!

We used their gear rental and shuttle. They are by far the WORST quality gear and services we have seen on many different trips and rivers. We have used different outfitters for the Grand Canyon in the past and sure wish that our trip leader and permit holder had selected a different company. There was nothing professional nor personal about them. We felt like just a number, and a neglected one at that. So much gear and so many buckles and straps that broke or we had to fix or just deal with, along with groover (human waste) cans that didn’t seal right…They sent the wrong oars, different than nearly all our oars people asked for, so we had to row with newbie equipment that squeezed and couldn’t feather nor pull the whole time.

If this is the trip of a lifetime, don’t throw your trip away by using this outfitter. This company has gone downhill and ruined the trip for many of us. Their driving up diamond creek was miserable, and didn’t feel safe the whole way back to flagstaff we were hanging on tighter than we did for any rapid in 225 miles: Their staff wasted our time in the beginning of the trip and we didn’t get started rigging until mid afternoon because they were late, and then they kept telling us stories about the river when most of us had done the river before and seemed like they just kept talking to hear themselves talk vs telling us what we needed to know. We ended up rigging the boats well past dark because of this and started our trip rushed based on their poor planning and egos. At least we got to go down the canyon, but my girlfriend and I will never ever go on a trip down the canyon if it is with this company, that’s saying something too. We beg you to do your research. People that like this company have nothing to compare it to. There are so many other great options in Flagstaff. One of my buddies on a trip last year, his stories about their food pack were hilarious. Thank God we didn’t have to deal with that, and luckily will never have to deal with this company again. You’re supposed to enjoy the canyon and your experience there and not have it be destroyed by the outfitter you pay and trust. I wish we could go back in time and tell, beg, demand that our TL to not use them. That’s our only regret from the whole trip. So at least, in the end, our first three trips down the canyon were fantastic, just not the last one with Moenkopi. Never again.
