If your looking for a place to stay near Ormond this is the place. My daughter and I had originally booked at another hotel but when we arrived our reservation was cancelled. After a 14 hour drive we were ready to put our feet up. After the frustration of the cancellation we scouted the area hoping to find a vacancy near the ocean. We stopped at Ocean Mist hoping to find a room. The owner Chuck took us right in and spoke to us as if he had known us our whole lives. He was friendly, personable, and down to earth. The rate was cheaper than our original hotel which was a bonus, and we were checked in, settled, and at the beach within 15 minutes of arrival. Chuck offered the use of a surfboard he owned and recommended surfing lessons from the surf shop next door. There is an observation deck atop the office as well that was open to guests to use and provided wonderful views of the beach and surrounding area. If your looking for 4 star accommodations with a silver spoon to feed from this is not the place you want. But if you want to be able to spend your time at the beach in a convenient comfortable location I would recommend Ocean Mist any day. I would recommend bringing a power strip with you though if you have devices to charge as with Ocean Mist being an older hotel there were limited outlets in our room. We will be going back for sure! Not a motel anymore. A friend rented one as an efficiency apartment. It's literally an empty old motel room that had a "kitchenette." I dare say I might prefer a shelter over this place for $1,000 per month. I don't think she'll be there long, but that's my opinion and I'm not the one living there.

My family and I have stayed at this motel for the past two summers and we love it. It is clean, quiet, cozy, and very family oriented. The manager, Chuck, is awesome and was very accommodating. He makes you feel like family when you stay at Ocean Mist. The parking is very easy -- you can park right outside of your room. There is also an amazing sun deck with beautiful views of the ocean. We were right across the road from the beach -- very easy walk to the ocean. Our room had a full size kitchen so we were able to walk to the beach in the mornings, eat lunch in our room, and walk back to the beach. The motel is pet friendly, so we were able to bring our small dogs with us. The price is very reasonable and I can't say enough wonderful things about this motel or the manager. We are already making plans to return next summer! Thank you, Chuck!

We love Ocean Mist Motel!! We have stayed here the past two summers!! The manager, Chuck, is so friendly and very helpful!! The motel is across the road from the beach! The beach is not crowded which we love! The price is very reasonable and we will definitely be back year after year!!

I'm a long time resident of ormond by the sea and my brother was coming in from Oregon for a visit and I thought the Oceanmist was a perfect convenient place for him to stay. you always have to leave messages because no one answers the phone but my few phone calls with the owner were great - he was perfectly friendly and accommodating and even offered to leave the room open for my brother since he was going to be coming in late. The room was fine, a little old and run down and couple of sketchy people hanging around, but clean and furnished with amenities and great location . Everything would have been great except.......
On the 4th day of my brother's stay the owner approached him while he was outside and engaged him in a conversation . The owner was obviously drunk and rambling on about how he was very quick and fast and could fight anyone and win etc etc. Luckily my brother found this to be more amusing than disturbing but I was uncomfortable for him. I don't think you can get more unprofessional than that. I certainly wouldn't recommend any single women staying there, and highly doubt I'll have relatives stay there anymore. ?

The family was very friendly and curteous to us. They even invited us to use their balcony over their own residence. Gave us a discounted price for our extended stay. The beach was very close so we could simply walk across the road and be there. Shopping was also within walking distance as well as dine in restaurants. Will return to this hotel again.
