I’ve been to this Omescape location twice and have had great experience both times! The puzzles are challenging and make you think, but not to the point of frustrating, which I appreciate in an escape room! You get unlimited hints if you need which is always helpful! Only thing I’d recommend is having a writing pad in the rooms to solve certain clues, otherwise I’ll for sure be coming back for my next escape room!

We played two rooms there. THE PROS: The Sorcerers game is a ton of fun. Lots of fun technology and solving a puzzle gave a great reward. Most importantly the actual puzzles themselves were fun and it encourages your group to divide and conquer. Dark Alter wasn’t the most intuitive game but the secret doors were fun.

THE CONS: The game master made us aware that everything was single use. Both rooms that was not true and had to use items more than once. It didn’t take up too much of our time we just found it odd that she made a point to say that in her brief but it wasn’t true. Our first game master offered us a lot of free hints even at times where we were working on a puzzle correctly. It felt over bearing at times. When she offered a hint we asked her if it was because she thought we wouldn’t escape and she wouldn’t give us a clear answer. I just wish she had either been honest and said “you guys are behind” or had just let us decide when we wanted hints. Their rooms are not ADA compliant which I’m not sure how they are able to do that. Both rooms we played required crawling of some sort. I missed out on parts of the game because I wasn’t comfortable crawling. Their hint system is walkie-talkies which is not ideal for an escape room in 2024.

This is their first location so it’s possible that it’s just older. I might try out their newer location next to see what improvements were made.

However, some rooms may feel too difficult for beginners, so choosing the right difficulty level is key. Overall, Omescape delivers an engaging and memorable escape room experience.

Extremely fun puzzle solving experience! Kingdom Of Cats is the perfect level of difficulty and mysterious setting for kids/family. The staff was friendly and helpful 🙂

This location of Omescape is good. I have played Kingdom of Cats, Joker's Asylum and Pandemic Zero. All fun rooms with different participant needs. The staff here is kind and patient and the faclities are well maintained. Ample parking in the front.

GamezPDD

Decent presentation and good customer service, but I put a lot of focus on the puzzles, and my group did the Pandemic room. A couple irrelevant red herrings really distracted from the experience, and when asked for a hint, the response was literally "ignore those other parts of the puzzle, your solution has nothing to do with them." Assumed we'd come back for those parts but never did. Just very strange, additional information for no reason.

The rest of the room was decent. Free hints, extra time if youre slow and another team isnt directly booked behind you. Just need a little more refining, at least on the start of Pandemic and it'd be a good experience. No props for the end of game pictures is a bit disappointing as well, or pictures inside rooms.

I do want to say Ive been to 3 rooms in the Sunnyvale Omescape and each one has been an incredible experience along with Break the Locks rooms and thats my point of comparison for what Id say is a "great escape room". Hopefully San Jose can catch up a bit on the quality. Not bad, immersive, but underwhelming for experienced escapees.
